Have to head down to Wellington sometime soon and so this weekend seems like a good idea so I can catch the Modified champs at Te Marua. (Then be back for the modified GP in Rotorua the following week.)
Never been to Te Marua before. Can someone tell me what the seating arrangements are? Should I take a chair, or cushion?
Any other useful info I should know?
Thanks. And hoping to see a Rotorua car win a title somewhere this year!

Hey there, There is a few types of seating at TeMarua, We have embankment at both ends of the track ( seat or cushion) Then theres the grandstand on the back straight (Cushion) Main straight has bench seating and some on the back straight (cushion).
Hope this helps.
Also somehow i dont think it will be a rotorua car that wins but you just never know. Hope you enjoy your visit

Grandstand and turns 3-4 probably would be the best places to sit, as when the sun gets low in the sky, turns 1-2 can be a bit blinding

Might be worth noting that depending on wind direction the temperature can drop quickly when the sun goes down. We were in Rotorua on Saturday when the were all saying how cold it was where I thought it was just normal speedway temperature. Hope you enjoy your first visit to Te Marua and enjoy seeing a Wellington car win.

Thanks everyone, that's very helpful.
And it was much colder at World 240's than I expected. All due to the strong wind blowing in from the South. All the way from Wellington no doubt!

3 other questions I meant to ask but forgot:
1. How long would it take to drive from central wellington to the speedway (on the Saturday afternoon / evening)
2. What time do you think it would be advisable to arrive at the track on Saturday - finals night - to get a good possie.
I can' get off work early enough to make it Friday night unfortunately, but maybe others would like to know answers to the above questions in relation to Friday?
3. If meeting postponed due to weather, is Sunday afternoon or night a likely reserve date?
Thanks in trembling anticipation!

All, Just something to be aware of it your planning on heading into Wgtn Central from Te Marua on Saturday night.
State highway 2 will be closed between Lower Hutt and Korokoro (Petone) for roadworks etc.
A diversion will be in place from 8pm Saturday until 10am if I recall the sign correctly.
