You are correct I raced it at W/P but it was a 350 Chev, stock standard, smog heads etc, only mods were it was balanced, & of course two amazing turbos. I raced against the Aussies Alan & Denises Butcher at Waikaraka Park & came 2nd on points, from memory Lance Jennings crapped out with mechanical problems, (Have the video some where I must dig it out). The 331 cu in Chev motor was raced in my 35A Commodore & I still have it in my workshop today sitting on an engine stand. Must catch up oneday Cheers Roger

Cheers guys, as a side rodger, how did you find the reliability?? Hi "damage" It took us a whole season to sort out turbine housing & tyre sizes as turbo's in those days was really new in speedway. Once everything was sorted we had a brilliant season coming 2nd overall points, engine was very reliable untill end of season when it dropped a valve which did a fair amount of damage, head, block etc. cheers Roger

Thats probably Robert and Sheryl Jeffcoate 96n. Has had minimal track time in the last couple of seasons due to other commitments but they still have the car and has made whispers about blowing the dust off it a bit more next season.

I have to agree Lance bit the bullet on points pushing too hard, I remember the long nights working on this SLR in my grandads shed in henderson, my uncle repainted this car in canary yellow one late night I was only around ten yrs old, the nights at waikaraka and the adrenaline always remain, thx Rodger that Torana has always inspired me to own another (I still paint them canary yellow)
