Why what have they changed there, or do you mean too many drivers putting thumbs down when they are not hurt?

From what the steward was saying at briefing at Te Marua on Saturday night, if you go thumbs down that is basically the end of your night as you will need to be checked out by St Johns & cleared to race again, also there is a whole lot of extra paperwork that needs to be done by the Steward......... when he has time during the meeting of corse........... I'm sure Tim S can elaborate on things or clear them up as needed

www.speedway.co.nz/pdf/Directors%20Meetings/158%20Summary.pdfIt's all explained on page 1... Any competitor involved in an incident causing a red light must be checked by track medical staff and cleared by the Steward before continuing racing.
The checkover can happen on the track during the stoppage, so will not hamper the ability of a car that has landed on its wheels to continue in the race.Certainly doesn't mean the end of the night's racing for anyone thumbs down.

No need for me to get into any discussion, Basil beat me to it and has posted the appropriate link!
And keeping things on topic, we have had some good feedback already. This is of course an excellent chance for anyone who has ever had anything to say about SNZ (good or bad), to help the organisation (and the sport) achieve its potential.

Doesn't this contradict rules regarding outside assistance? It's just the way that last bit reads.

What I would like to see from speedway nz (and I know they are working on a new rule book ect) is a way of finding a bit more consistence between tracks. we have had a few things come up this year at our track with how the rules are read, and the use of rules to get around others.
Yes I think Tim is doing a awesome job with-in the snz team and with things going the way they are we will see our sport become alot more to the point and no way around it.
Just what we needed

Good feedback Apples......but I am duty-bound to remind everyone that you won't be in the draw to win $130 worth of DVD's by posting on Macgors.....send your thoughts to SNZ and help make our sport even better than it already is!!!!!

Excellent point to follow up.
An audit process of each track to ensure they are performing to prescribed minimum SNZ Standards.
Bit like the 'secret shopper' some companies employ!
