Sure were, and at the risk of opening a can of worms I'd say some un-necessary hits at that.
27 cars in the pits, 10 cars started the 3rd heat

Crikey, that 61N has taken a beating! Great shots. Drew The 61n car was being driven by Ricky Boulton, with the aim being to set up the suspension. Palmy cars had their own opinion on how the suspension should look. !!

Well teams racing is teams racing, and generally just about anything goes....almost. But from where we were watching launching into obviously already crippled cars, after the flag, (yes I know the green was probably still on) did nothing to promote any sort of comraderie between some of the drivers.

This is no disrepect to anyone but one thing i have noticed since moving from the nth to the south island is the lack of ferocity in the stockcar racing down here no one seems interested in launching a big hit or winding someone off they all seem intent on following each other around the track , he comradery thing you mention is an interesting one for me personally i like to see the battles develop between drivers rather than the comradery , and the battles should stay on the track , its these battles that bring the punters in and keep them coming back because you dont know wats going to happen next , thats my 2 cents anyway lol

Dont have a prob with the contact side of things, but when only 10 cars out of 27 start the third heat it doesnt do anyone any good if the aim is to pulverise cars into oblivion. You can have good racing without senseless demolition. Not everyone can afford a rebuild every week.

considering it was agreed at drivers breifing there will be no delibrite attacks on crippled/stationary cars let alone after the race.

At the end of the day if you arent 100% comitted and prepared to demolish your car and put it on the line then you shouldnt be teams racing , sucessfull teams are ones that do this

Not a lot you can do when youve just been wound off the end and are going 2mph limping after the flag. And it carried on into the open races, then the main protagonist puts his car on the trailer for the night!

STOKED with the GM effort. Next year boys, maybe with a plan.

Well I think the man in question did exactly the right thing for his team, the points were alocated for every car that finished. So by doing this it insured less points for the other team. Imagine if they had lost by one point? Apart from the fact that it might have been after the flag? I didnt think it was, but there are more people in favour saying that it was. He might have just been fired up and not even noticed the flag? I think its a bit hard to judge what was going through his mind and thats what it comes down to in the end. Good race by all tho, was great to watch... Hope your feeling ok Ollie. Chainsaw
