I spoke to Bill Peat a few seasons ago about these tanks and I thought he said there had been five of them, they were 'developed' from an original George Duncan tank. I tried to do a history like the Pete Rees one ( www.reesracecars.co.nz/asp/history.asp?page=history ) but there are a few gaps and I'm not too sure this is right but it's a start. If anyone has some pics or corrections it would be interesting to track these great cars... Photos 'borrowed' from MIA board, PallMall, Antsgofast, lustee

One more to fill a gap. 89A Shane Walden. Could be an IRA photo, but not sure.

The yellow tank racing out of Baypark is driven by Allan Dunn. Allan informed me that tank is the ex Steiny Tank.

Hi to all those who have been asking about my New Bill Peat Tank currently under construction.
It’s true there are a couple of new secret weapons being built in the Waikato but there has been a slight change in plan in the Bessant camp as of last night.
After much consideration and deliberation we have decided My current NRP chassis 919 is going to undergo a conversion during the off season to return to Toyota Agrade/Super stock.
The new Tank will start its life as a Stockcar next season.
Auckland could do with a Tank in its armoury for the teams in Wellington.
For the record it will be a FORD.
hope this brings you all up to date.
Shane Bessant Stockcar 919A

That's great news Shane re the move up to Supers. Just out of interest has the increased numbers in the class in Auckland helped with the decision or did you always intend to move up? Seems to be a snowball effect now which maybe will drag back a few of those drivers who are racing out of Auckland...
46p, 171r, 17v, 4r, 7r, 114r... the list goes on.

Oh, forgot to add this, version 2, with all the info in the previous postings, probably still a few errors and some photos to add.
