Can anyone elaborate what was done to get relegated, for Gis.

Bugger for it to happen.

We only got Dave's motor in car and going on Wednesday, track time that night and reset carb next day, then off to Huntly.

In the race against HB towards the end of it a Gis car had an HB car locked into the wall on the back straight. The HB car reversed to get going again so the Gis car reversed up too, not once this happened but a few times until they eventually became tangled. I am not sure on the rule but apparently the Gis car is not allowed to reverse.

It was a good win. In the first corner Alan McRobbie was eliminated, Panard arm broke which caused the drive shaft to hit the bottom of his seat. From then on it was always going to be tough.

Credit where it is due though and thats to Billy Neil and Carlos Chesnutt, those two guys certainly performed well. Carlos and Billy took some good hits and just kept on trucking. Nick Vallance had them both lined up for some end of the straight action but the ol fox's were on the brakes and out of a tricky mess very quickly.

Lets hope Auckland can get a team for Wellington and we also see Palmy back to being Palmy there as well.

Gisborne had a car relegated fron the result for a couple of illegals teams racing incidents, it was a fair call and one the referees thought long and hard about. That allowed Rotorua to qualify.

Gizzy the stars on the night. A hue upset, tho still not as big as 3 Kihikii kings beating 4 panthers in auckland.

I think the 2nd biggest wsa in the same race with super impressive new comer simon allen putting another huge one on Marty cooke at the other end.

And man, those HB drivers are tough. Not sure if it was a team plan or not, but they got smashed, and even after multiple reds still stayed out on the track in there cars, thumbs up.

hard men allright, and an awesome show in Huntly. If you desided not to go you missed out on a cracker of a meeting.

Some strong teams out there, Wangas, Huntly, PN (who i called auckland all night, as carlos and billy ran the show in both there races, man some experiance there, they were awesome with a capital O ) were all doing it. All serious contenders.

Again, Rotorua have the flash gear, but were unable t do it, despite the best intentions of Mike Ranger who was impresive.

Hope 1nz is ok, huge hit on by carlos and another rotorua car who all went in hard on the first corner of the race - there was a comment after thatr the whole gearbox broke out???

i think they they got tucked just had a look a the rule book and it says you can reverse if tangled or in the wall ( which they were ) but you may not attack when reversing which from where i was sitting didnt apear to that last race was the best teams race i have seen for years

Not quite, broke the Panard arm which ended with the driveshaft whacking the bottom of the seat. 1NZ is all good

perhaps someone can explain for my benefit how reversing, holding and pinning a competitor against the wall is in breach of the rules ?

My thoughts on the rules in regards to teams is that a car that is holding another car up may not reverse up the track to hold it there.

have to agree there Ric, nothing illegal in the move from where I was sitting, I have seen it done on several occasions in superstock teams racing with no relegation. If that was the incident in question??
Speaking from experience It's one of the hardest things to swallow as a competitor when you put it all on the line for the victory & have an official takes it all away with a wrong call.

I must add it's not a job I'd want.

Personally, I think the call to relegate the Gisborne car is a harsh one.
The so-called illegality happened right in front of where I was sitting, and I saw nothing different to what I have seen in many teams races before this one. I am sure we have all seen cars backing away and driving back in too pin a car in the wall with no relegation imposed.

Anyway, awesome work Gisborne. You showed some great potential for the future

You may only reverse if your way is impeded or you are going in race direction, as the HB car was impeded against the wall he was allowed to reverse to get clear track, the gissy car that was holding him had clear track in front so was not allowed to reverse, in the first movement after the hb car reversed,the gissy car then had to wait, he can not reverse to better his position in which he did on several occasions.Hope this helps you all understand the ruling.

I thought most people knew that rule??

We've been coping the rule book for years for the online stockcar races and that was one of the biggies that we would crack down on....
