There has been a Teams race set up for Saturday night BY THE SELECTORS against the Titans. Not all is in agreeance and there is alot of confusion from all sides, drivers, crews, committee, rep etc. Not all the selectors are even aware of whats going on apparently. There was a meeting last week about this exact subject with all agreeing that the Teams thing would wait till later in the season once the big deals were out of the way and the numbers had grown somewhat. Then out of left field the drivers receive txts on Saturday night to say they are Teams racing on Saturday night the 6th. The committee have set down some deadlines for the selectors to abide by so it could all fall over yet. All I know is that its made for alot of drama and stress at this time of year. Confused? I am>

Ok. Time taken to take a breath
Deno, yes a teams race looks as tho it will go ahead this saturday.
We (the class) at this time want to thank Chch for extending an invitation to come race down there. For a number of reasons, the offer was declined and for that we apologise. Since then, some but not all of the factors in that decision have been dealt with. But at the moment, as i write we still have 2 team cars without gearboxes in cars. the last thing we wanted to have happen was to ring on Friday to say we weren't coming due to the lack of cars.
At this stage, if a car isnt ready, the fact that we are racing at home gives us the opportunity to bring in another car. Most guys were going to race in the open races anyway so the costs involved is a minimal extra, far less than towing to Chch.
Yes, the damage inflicted this Saturday may have a detrimental effect on the class locally, and if it happens that would be a shame, but at the end of the day that should be a decision of the drivers. However the resources available to them at their home track will benefit them more than being away from home.
It would be a shame if Chch/Nelson relations were in any way damaged before a chance to work together has even begun. In fact the class hasn't even begun, which is why the fear of losing cars is so prevolent at this time.
With more time to organise events and fixtures, and also added to that the need for some serious fundraising I'm sure a better effort will eventuate for next season.

Hey by the sounds of it you guys have been hitting hard and been getting hit hard from the start of the season anyway. ;D ;D It would be a shame if Chch/Nelson relations were in any way damaged before a chance to work together has even begun. In fact the class hasn't even begun, which is why the fear of losing cars is so prevolent at this time. Surely not, to put it in words we are all familiar with.... This is just a rain out We in chch have to remember that you guys from nelson asked heeps earlyer on in the season what the plans were so you could get your selves organised and nothing was done about it. I passed on the info to the right people numerious amounts of times....... So we arnt so squeaky clean either. Chainsaw

so is it just a normal stockcar night on saturday... with no superstocks?? If you mean at Nelson, Palmy vs Tigers in the superstocks, and Titans vs Thunder in the stockcars. Followed by superstock open races. No open races for stockcars.

The Nelson / CHCH relationship will not be affected in any way by the teams decision . The only reason i asked the Question was i was told that blenheim had pulled out and your team was keen to come to CHCH , then it they wanted more money , then it was off for the reasons pete and godfather have out lined . Then talking to Blenheim on sunday they say they have never pulled out and the teams race for this weekend was all go . So i was confused as to what the real story was .

Warren... Considering you were racing Stockys before the majority of our drivers were born it does raise the question about your defences.......... You are about as defenceless as a Stingray in Steve Irwin's swimming pool!!!!!!! Remember age and treachery will always out do youth and cunning!!! As for the compliment....you are most welcome!!!

Nelson were originally scheduled to race Blenheim on the 22nd November, but that didnt fit their schedule as they were racing the next day and finding other suitable dates proved difficult. That is why the Chch trip was being touted as we have responsibilities to sponsors etc. The race this weekend is not ideal timing to say the least, but is going ahead, so good luck to both teams. be interesting who puts on the best show, the Superstocks or Stockcars.
