As for Barry Browns comment regarding promoting WS - its a no brainer for any true speedway fan where there is going to be 30 odd sprintcars and no WP on? I realise not clashing meetings, so understand your "no brainer" comment, but these days many cannot afford a weekly fix of speedway. Your encouragement may see such people attending the Springs and missing the next WP show, but I'm sure they won't regret their decision...........

Wow have you guys given us plenty to think about ,some good positive stuff amongst it all to, it is being read and taken on board.
During the Xmas break I will take some time to do some blue skying , this stuff will form part of that. The big ship WP wont change direction over night, but it will turn.
Thanks again

Thanks again Bernie It COULD be argued that my posts on this topic have been less than positive, But to counter that I would say that Bernies post as quoted is probably the best and most positive I have heard from anyone with anything to do with the running of the place in years. Never before have I heard anyone from there saying anything like thanks for the feedback we will take it into account when considering the future direction of the place. Best of luck Bernie, I am genuine when I say I hope you don't join the long list of motivated people who tried to improve the place and for one reason or another are no longer around. I'm sure by taking into account of ppl like the Bro and Stockcar 14a you will make headway.

The question the committee needs to ask is "why can't so many of their drivers be bothered coming back?". In my case the politics and the "top guys and the rest" mentality caused me reassess my financial priorities, and the Stockcar came way down the list. There are others in the same boat, I know of three stockcar drivers that havn't bothered getting their cars ready because they have been treated like they are second class citizens just because they don't have big budgets and flash cars.

I think most people want to see the 'park do well.
We all have our own memories of the place, Dad used to take me when I was knee high to a grasshopper. The anti establishment sarcasim has well and truly run its course and it is now time for those who can and indeed will to take the place into the 2000's.
Wouldn't it be terrific to see the place in pristine condition?
As far as Colin Dale Park in Manukau, believe me Waikaraka is in a far better place as much as location. And noise issues, as well as stand alone promote-ability. There is a lot of action to contend with otherwise, but don't get me wrong, it is exciting for Auckland, but........
Go the Park, and keep it up Bernie.
