Good to see some discussion on this.I bring this up because when i raced for Ken's Cowboys against Greymouth and Blenheim we were informed at drivers meeting that there would be no attacking from a stationary position or no hitting stationary cars and if you sat for more than two laps you would be deemed out of the race.I was a bit disappointed but it was early in the season and this was last years rule also,The other drivers assured me this was a good rule.Well they were right and there were chances to smoke a parked car[or be smoked] it worked well at both Greymouth and Blenheim. At Huntly teams meet i asked the drivers to consider this for that meeting and Alan Levien also spoke for the idea after racing at Blenheim under this rule, they agreed and once again it worked well.Down South the logic to persuade me originally was that we are early in the season and don't want to wreck cars or people but i don't believe the hits have been any less but i do feel a piece of mind knowing someone with an axe to grind won't line me up and try wreck me and not just my car.I don't have to worry about hurting someone either because if the rules of the day say you can hit a parked car then that's what you may have to do.Less red lights this way too cause you know you are safe sitting in an incapacitated car.

On the SMS dvd that mr bump is talking about with fast eddie i think you will find that he gets hit hard by barry podjusky when he is parked too , and also on that same dvd you will see a few hits from a stationary position that go through the 90 degree 2 , and knowing some of these guys personally i know that wernt complaing afterwards thats forsure , perhaps times and drivers have changed lol

I think things have changed namely the speed of the cars,I had my first stockcar race in 2004 and I have noticed the change since then. You will never hear me complain after a race or after getting my butt kicked, I will race to the rules of the day it's just that as usual nothing will change until it's too late.If i had'nt experienced racing under this rule i probably would think this was a soft option.
