hey
not much to report, as the meeting was relatively quiet and i managed to keep my nose clean all night.
the car continued to handle well and show good pace, with the only gripe of the night being that of the starter motor, as it played up once again, "dying" when trying to start the car for the third race again. but then suddenly working again when starting the car for the last race.
in one race i managed to keep pace with daryl for a few laps, with the difference being daryl getting extra bite out of the southern corner, pulling away a car length each lap.
with superstocks stood down this coming sunday, we have 3 weeks before our next wanganui meeting. so we have decided to finally change out the old standard diff, which had been altered into a quickchange diff, and put dads aluminium speedway enginering quick change. it will lighten the car by about 50 to 60kg, and also allow a fifth link to be installed which will allow alot of extra bite when accelerating. this will also involve replacing all the old rear track links, with chrome molley rod ends, which will also tighten up the back end.
However a spanner was thrown in the works when we went to unload the car at home. starter motor dead, looked down to see the bellhousing with a huge crack, and finally as we pushed car off trailer discovered that the gear box is now locked in top gear. unable to find neutral, can find 1st gear, but then the gear box is in top AND first.
will give another update in a few weeks prior to the meeting on the 27th of december to give a short progress report..
and on a final note.....top four on POINTS TABLE after last meetings stands as follows:
Scott Duncan 23v - 111 (points leader)
Steve Guilford 45v - 105
Richard Watkins 99v - 100
Morris Doyle 15v - 89
think i have a long way to go to equal dads record 5 times Wanganui top points scorer. heh.. but i'm hoping to try and keep in touch with points and remain somewhere near the top this season.. time will tell
