For your info guys the body is a series 8 morrie and i think its awsum lindsay and another real Tank made in the Waikato. Looks good guys, however im not a fan of the body, but thats only my opinion, aside from that the engineering on it looks great. I would love to see another Peat Superstock tank hit the track one day as see how it stacks up to the real tank's made in Wanganui

Definitely a Ford Pop body and running a 3.3 Nissan v6 apparently out of a petrol Terrano. Goes well The Car weighed in 50kgs over weight so the boys have some work to do before their next meeting. HOW CAN THEY LET A CAR 50KGS OVER WEIGHT RACE AND ALSO IT HAS NO ROOF NO IE MUST HAVE AT LEAST A FIN ON THE ROOF SNZ RULE BOOK. A fin, with a minimum area of 300mm square, with a racing number painted on each side, shall be mounted on roof in such a position that the number can be read from each side of the car, and shall be a minimum height of 190mm with a width of 30mm for the numbers. T12-1-15 Aerofoil: (a) One only aerofoil, consisting of a centre section with no more than two single-piece side panels, is permitted. Note: polygon side panels are not permitted. (b) The aerofoil assembly must be fitted above the roof and the assembly must not exceed the width and length of the car roof. The aerofoil must be securely mounted to the rollcage. I had this come up afew weeks ago and won ;D ;D, [glow=red,2,300]The rule say a aerofoil shall be mounted, [/glow] not has to be mounted, As many have said in late the rules are how you read them.

Hey chequebook, you gonna apologise to the official now you know the meaning of the word shall. I'm not a fan of sharkfins or wings, so i've put foward a remit to SNZ for this years agm to allow stockcars to run with a big number on there roof, a la Nascar and saloon car style. I asked for dispensation to run this year with the roof number, as lap scorers all sit highup, and have a great veiw of the roof. When at a decent size it is much easier to see than a fin or wing with a small number under the current rules. It also provides an opportunity for all of the number rules for cars with roofs to be covered in one section of the rulebook, and make it easier for scrutineers to rule on a wide section of classes. Fortunatly for me, I was given dispensation after gonig through this process. I will get feedback from all tracks i visit to find out if the lapscorers find it easy to distniguish me from others cars. So far the feedback has been 100 % positive. The rule as it stands requires stockcars and superstocks to have a sharkfin/wing/panel with the number attatched to it. As I noted above, the dictionary is clear what "shall" means. As for the tank running without - I stand by my comment. first meeting for brand new car. Let the log book record some of the issues, and let the car get out and race! great to see a new tank, and a new look. I think it looks tough, retro and cool. cheers

SHALL 1 = if a driver say i shall go to wellington and win the NZ Champs this year. turns up and get DNF , sure on 2nd night when he rolls up after not making the top 30 and parks on the infield as 31st car. SNZ and the other 150 people would didn't make it will agree the word Shall is for dreamers. [glow=red,2,300]"IF NOT YOUR IN Sweetheart"[/glow] Just finished having lunch with someone who is on the tech committee, Quote : Bloody cheque Book, after a long draw out phone calls, no one can agreed where it Say's you have to run one, the calls have ended in the tech committee needs to look at rewriting the rule as it not clear enough, till then "I Shall Not Run One, " Lap score done by transmitter at most SNZ tracks. i normally end up on my roof cant see the wing then anyway.

hehe... Just to clarify, no dis-respect, None taken. My tank should be hitting the ovals next season if all goes well, the body on my machine is somewhat different again by tank standards, so it will be interesting to see what sort of response it gets . reading names like Steiny and Chris Britten in subject text makes me realise I made the right decision in not rushing the build. they are some very big names to live up to. As for Marty with his BANG?? is that the motor or just shooting your self in the foot again?

[/quote] Thats agenuine LOL - every time i read it. Have no idea what it means, but the fact it makes no sense makes me chuckle, and if a pointer to the common sense in the rulebook then a very clever post. Either way, it made me laugh. And Carlos is a top bloke allright.

See you in wellington.

sounds like the same old same old, who has the proof it was actually 50kg overweight, also isnt it lindsays choice what body he runs, not up to you clowns what his choice is, its not all about w***k value, lindsays spent alot of time and money to achieve what he has and yes, there are teething issues and it obviously was ok with the huntly guys for him to run, thats the trouble with this site it may be a forum for all walks of life but atleast lindsays trying something different and not on here critizing your car, its not all about being a weekend racer with a big cheque book or some wannabe sitting in the stand, so get over it.

i think he should have been aloud to race 4 1 night.
there is so much time(thousands) and effort that go into making a new car and with any car build you can only realy tell if the car is going to be over weight when its time to race.
also some people dont have scales in there shead to weight there cars on so even they are unsure of the wieght till they are at the track.
i think ask some one who has just built a car what they think. and for me its let him race fix next week.
but thats only me
