just imagine the bums in seats with a well promoted/advertised sprint car event at bp with a decent field of american racers next to the kiwis i for one think it would be massive and one big step in the right direction of giving bay park and wk a good reputation again When Wk had the awesome 3 day Outlaw meeting a while back the fans stayed away in droves. A once in a life time opportunity missed for most folk. It would be interesting to know how many current macgorians were there. Every open wheel racing fan should have been. 1. WK was offered the same deal as wellington and palmerston twice 2. he chose not to take it up whcih is his right 3. there have been theats over the meeting on the 3rd w/s set that date early wk put his date for the GP late 4 as for WK and Salters Ron is still on his xmas card list so think about that 5.yes we would love to race at the best track in NZ but as always it is a case of money It was late and had just got home from Hamilton. An opportunity to sh it stir and repost one of my favorite pics. ;D 1. ahhh money 2. ahhh money 3. yeah well... umm... sh it happens. 4. I think about that all the time 5. ahhh money

When Wk had the awesome 3 day Outlaw meeting a while back the fans stayed away in droves. A once in a life time opportunity missed for most folk. It would be interesting to know how many current macgorians were there. I was............for the third night only. I know it clashed with the NZ Stockcar Champs in the HB, and a few people chose that over BP. I remember all the fuss with pre-purchasing of tickets so as not to miss out, and even the third night was distinctly lacking in patronage by comparison with what I was expecting. One fan I know of that did reserve his seats said he felt quite alone over those first two nights. I shame really, as it meant it quickly became a one off..............

Or Bob C's wallet...........I seem to remember it was reported it cost S1.2 mill to get the Outlaws over here, but I'm picking not a very large portion of that was ever recovered at the gate. It may have been too early perhaps, as interest in the class is certainly more widespread now than it was just a cuppla three short years ago.
