It is good to see a sign outside the radio station here in New Plymouth advertising this event. It is on a very busy road.
As I drive past it each day I wonder how many people actually know what a MODIFIED is. If I wasn't as interested in speedway as I am I would have no idea.
Here is a thought, why not park one by the sign. Looking like they do with the wings and big wide wheels, just imagine how many kids would be hassling their parents to take them!!

Its going to be a great event, but have recieved an email to say at close of entries there is only 21 cars. Stratford are also looking at making this a ONE day event. This i find very uninviting, long way to travel just for one nights racing.
Hopefully there will be more cars than 21.

21 cars...no point having 2 nights really is there. high chance 3 cars wont finish all 3 or 4 races first night.........they miss out leaving 17 or 18 for finals.... how many to go to finals for this event? ?.........16, 18 or 20....if 20 may as well just have 21 car field and do 3 heats

Going on Saturday's pre-Champs run out in stratty Mark Dixon looking very good. Shame sterring box failure let him down for third race. How did Auckland Guys get on?? Wins to 41a (grid 2 start), 11a (grid 10 start) and 64a in feature (grid 1 start). Scotty got bashed up a bit and seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Seems to be having his fair share of that this season and we know how he feels! Foxy got two 3rds to go with his win from rear starts the entire night. Brian got a couple of 2nds. 11 cars fronted which included 2 from Huntly (78h and 97h). Cars there were 3nz, 6a, 7a, 11a, 19a, 36a, 41a, 64a, 78h, 97h and 99a.

Hopefully mine will be fixed by this coming weekend and we get somewhere to race, was sure a near miss on Sat, all i remember is seeing the blue 11A coming at me from the side

stratfor saw the following on saturday night
4s, 4h, 5s, 10s, 11s, 12s, 18r, 29e, 55s, 57w, 67s, 121s
wins to 55s, 4s and 11s all from front row grids however
locals looked to have edge. 29e quick with couple of minor placings i think over the 3 heats
