Not sure if any were asked, or if the promotion were approached to allow releases, and not many were running after two weeks of teams racing in a row. Why would you want them there anyway, when you have 30+ Stockcars every weekend I'm told?
Anyway it was great to see all the Wellington guys here, and I bet there were some nervous locals in the crowd. I must admit I was mentally prepared for the trophy to be heading south ;D
There were three absolutely brutal heats, and anyone who witnessed it would be hugely appreciative of the Wellington drivers coming up and contributing to the show.
thewatcher said it pretty well on the other thread, and I doubt any of the drivers have a huge issue (well, maybe lol). Plenty of us parochial supporters on here that can get a bit carried away. No need to detract from the spectacle with throwaway one liners.

It was a great nights racing throughly enjoyed it, just wish if you going to acuse people of things you could put the name up here as most people do. I can only asume Shane Simpson had car problems to pull off like that on the final race but aparantly it was a clutch problem which would'nt stop most drivers from still hitting he drove it on the trailer alright!!

I have always loved the on track battles between W and P in the stockcar class. Been plenty of good quality friendly rivalry over the years. I don't like so much the rivalry between the afore mentioned supporters sitting in the stands I have heard both lots get down right abusive at times. I would like to hear the same sportsmanship that comes from the drivers amongst the supporters a lot more. Would be great to see the P vs W battle continue on Friday night. Palmy have had the upper hand a bit too often for this Wellington supporter this season.

Gotta keep the good old rivalry Welly / Parmy on this board ;D ;D After all its all good fun ,,,,Youll find at NZs that if required going into the last heat theyll be best of buddies ,and give those Northen boys out of Hurricanes region abit of curry up like last year ,,bring on the NZ Stockcar Champs

Saw a number of cars cut pole line at Rotoura and get away with it the problem with rotorua is you can hardly see the poleline as the dirt is piled up on it and the first couple of metres on the infeild is also dirt so hard to see when flying down the straight also the ref cant see the poleline from his box as he told my brother when he was sitting about 3m off the pole on the track no yellows though as thought he was sitting on infield

only seen shane drive to the infield once and only put 2 wheels over the pole line and he was going around a stoped car he did not make any advantage.
dont see how shane simpsion drove his car on the trailer as he had no gears!so he couldnt stay out on the track.
took off on the second restart to hard and it blew.
shane does not have another gear box so unsure if he will be racing at the nzs

advantage was gained buy cutting the pole as to avoid cars taking him out. maybe the other cars should cut inside him further and do the deed.
