we all got to see it late but if we all ask for refunds speedbox will run at a loss and we may not get to have this service avaliable to us in the future, we can only hope that they will get the problems sorted out.. Checked my emails this morning and they had refunded my money, I was happy for them to keep it but they said they wernt happy with there service so that was a nice touch. Hopefully they can sort it in the future and provide more meetings. I WILL be doing it again checked my email no refund for this boy was told by some-one yesterday my money was in a bank in nigeria maybe this is so ""dame""

Rockyford, do you have flash player downloaded? seems a shame you missed it. Did you e mail the suport crew at SBox, I e mailed a couple of times to suss what was wrong on our system and got timely and friendly response, flash player people, if you dont have it you wont see it. We have had international test match rugby interupted in transmission by satelite problems in the past, why should speedway be any different. There is no way that these people are trying to rip anyone off. i feel its unfair to say they are.

Bruce, its fine being pissed off at speedbox if you feel short changed, but judging by all your posts on the subject the major problem is at your end and theres nothing that anyone can do to sort that except you.

Phil B i have to disagree, not a pathetic post at all considering exactly the same thing happened last year, obviously there are issues with their transmission from that particular track that they have not been able to resolve since last year Exactly the same didn't happen last year Nat S - thats nonsense! Yes last year there was a short delay in transmission of a minute or so, but thats all. In fact, if you refer to springs post on the Notice Board, the show last year was good enough to... "Speedbox.tv covered the event for the first time last season, and won 'Best Live Action Production' of The Year at the NZ Speedway Awards."Mindful of the health and prosperity of speedway in general surely what fans need to do is encourage the likes of speedbox and others - not put the boot in and kick them in the guts when they don't deserve it.

While there were definately issues with last nights coverage,it appears that once it was all go the majority seem pleased with what they got.
Speedbox appear to be proactive in doing what they can to sort things out and issuing refunds is a sign that they are looking at the bigger picture in not wanting to alienate the subscriber base.
While many were jumping up and down, with the odd one still doing so,how many people have ever received monetary refunds at the track when a meetings been pulled,or how many have sat there and watched promotions fire through enough "races" to constitute a "meeting" before pulling the pin and in turn not having to issue a rainout pass?.

Here I am.. paid my $9.95 to watch the 240s.... Staying on the Perch tonight to watch the event not going to my local track for my fix ..only to find that when I have Visa'd the money.......guess what.... .........Due to technical difficulties.. the event will be delayed ( NOT LIVE )... by 1.5 hours.... ............Not good enough... especially when I have marketed it to all and sundry.... Decent honest answer Please SpeedBox What a pathetic post. From my brief dealings with speedbox support people behind the scenes yesterday and this morning they come across as very responsible caring people who are deeply sorry for what has happened - issues beyond there control. They have responded promptly to my queries in a very professional manner. If you want decent honest answers how about doing the decent honest thing and contact them direct before you slag them publicly. Phil B Having arrived back today from a short break....It amazing to read the many posts about SPEEDBOXs Problems... I DO NOT think my post was Pathetic actually !! What you may not realise is this : The marketing about this event was well done by SpeedBox & the Rotorua Club. I made a decision to not go to LIVE speedway last weekend...I chose to watch LIVE speedway via SpeedBox... When entering the HOME Page of SpeedBox to PAY to watch LIVE coverage... there was NO mention of any problem at that stage. Notification was ONLY given.. after my Account was Debited the money to watch LIVE...... Not at any stage BEFORE I Paid.... NOTE...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOT BEFORE I WAS DEBITED !!!!!!!!! Upon getting Debited.............Then I was told there would be NON - LIVE...NON FULL COVERAGE... Now Unless you are not human.. and have never had a Company Debit your account over the INTERNET before you have full advice and explaination about a change in your goods or services .....then maybe you can see my concerns ...........AT THE TIME OF PAYMENT NOTE................ AT THE TIME OF PAYMENT I hope & trust this may make it easier for you to understand my concerns Cheers WISEOWL

I am not sure if the reason for Speedbox problem has been mentioned as I can't be bothered reading all the pages so I will give you what I got from Ian Rawkins.
Maybe they don't want this public I don't know but if they don't then someone can remove it.
Just as myself, Andrew (Telesport Cameraman) and Paul Sumner were leaving for the chopper ride Ian came running up the road and asked Paul if he could fly to the Rotorua airport to collect a satelite part that was being put on a plane in Auckland and flown to Rotorua. The part left Auckland at 7.00pm and was due about the same time as we were going to be in the air. This part was a vital piece of the transmission satelite and without it no coverage would have happened.
After our flight we landed back at the chopper pad and Ian called to say the part is at Rotorua so Paul dropped Andrew and I back at the track then headed back to the chopper to fetch the part. Observant ones at the track would have noted the chopper flying off just as the repercharge started.
Speedbox busted their butts to get this part to Rotorua so coverage could go ahead. It was not an issue that was easily resolved and thankfully, for those not there, the efforts of Ian Rawkins and Paul Sumner were justified as coverage did get going in the end.

yes I sneaked round by their caravan with some food(so I could eat in peace) and took it all in about the piece plane fights everything and they were not worried about costs of taxis or anything they were only focused on getting what they needed and were 100 percent committed to filling their obligations.

In hindsight perhaps I should have of used the word inappropriate rather the pathetic but its too late now and I stand by the rest of my post.
For your information in addition to SWPs comments speedbox explained to me numerous other technical problems that they had encountered.
I asked them if I could post them here for the whole world to see but they declined saying they did not want to be seen to be making excuses.
And they were in the process of refunding all payments.
Also they were considering whether or not to do any more live streams, at least unless they could confidently sort out the issues.
Its was my view then and still is now that these are not the hallmarks of a ripoff or dishonest outfit - quite the opposite in fact!

Phil B
Thanks for the reply
I understand the problems and hastles that happened before, during, and after the 240s were due to be broadcast.
But you have to understand my concerns as many people use the internet to pay in advance for goods or services....Only to find that they do not get what they have paid for...
Yes.. I did presumably did get a refund.....which will be great...Full credit to them But maybe SpeedBox should get there act sorted before marketing the way they did. Especially going by the other responses on this thread. I do not like being " An Experiment " whilst they are " getting up to speed" with their broadcasts
I could never run my business that way.. and neither I should.
Good luck to SpeedBox in the future..
Thanks again for the reply
PS you may notice I have Altered the Thread heading ... probably more accurate dont you think
Cheers
