Here's a few pics from Meeanee on Saturday night.
A very big thank you to:
Andrew Weld Builders in Palmy for the loan of his car,
Keith Gill (KGB) and Brendon Locke (CSL Race Engines) for their support.
Another great night in the Bay.
A lot of the pics are a bit dark - I don't have photoshop yet, and I've only read 2 pages of the camera instruction book so far.
Can only improve.
#1NZ Malcolm Ngatai retired early with a dirveline problem, but he showed up as usual.
Mal's CAR always takes a great pic, it's very photogenic.
Think of this pic, and others, as being "ethereal", not "dark".
Andrew Weld Builders supplied this car for Graeme Ward, it's for sale, we like it a lot.
This is how the car looked just a few hours later.
Brendon Zachan's car says it all.
Graeme Ward put the pedal down & won the first Stockcar race of the night in his first drive of the car.
He was flying and it was "game on" for this strong Keith Gill built car, but was pulled off due to flat rear tyre in race 2, and DNF race 3 after a hit from a Gisbourne car in a deep hole resulted in 2 more flat rears.
The CSL Buick performed very good and never missed a beat.
With some fine tuning to the suspension set-up this car will go even better, and be very competitive at a national level.
It took over 50 tons of pressure to straighten the chassis on #97P after the big wind off from #84B a fortnight ago at Meeanee.
#84B is a very tough stockcar that wants to be in all the action.
Shame #7P got flatties in the 2nd & 3rd race.
The car had a slight tendency to want to go out by the wall, which is easily fixed. We took the wing off, putting it back on may or may not make a difference, but the Black Panther head looks way, way, cooler.
The reliable Ross Leonard also run a CSL engine.
84B was another car with "For Sale" on the roof.
Regans car goes good too.
Marty Cooke got 2nd in the Kuru Cup. Seems that the crew have a neat mobile watering system sussed out.
Adam Groome #9B Superstock runs a 6 cylinder Ford Falcon against the big V8 Chevs. He seems to keep up OK to me, especially through the corners.
I guess it's just another good quality Ford.
After seeing this picture we made sure our battery is fully charged up so we don't need to ask for a push start at Meeanee very often.
No bull, this car flew higher than most golf balls I've hit.
One of those crashes where "you just shut your eyes real hard and hope like hell you're going to open them again."
My mate said to take this pic of Ron Tye fixing something because he's usually doing the opposite.
Thanks for your help fixing the clutch pedal Ron, it's better than ever now.
This is one solid Stockcar, it just keeps on keeping on.
I think Keith Hingston might have had a problem with the gearbox, or clutch.
#7B couldn't stand still under a red light and was taken off.
As usual Keith was at the pointy end of the business.
Check out the the wing.
Steve Hampton had a good night
The Brewshack boys, Paul Caney & Troy Baitison were there too.
The black beast from the East Superstock #96B of Murray Long
Not sure who's car #75 was, another dark knight in a black beast from the East.
Man I gotta suss out my flash settings to take better pics of dark cars on dark nights. Can only improve.
Scott Joblin took a big hit which broke both rear shocks and damaged the steering.
Engine was built in Las Vegas.
Phil & Gill
Mark Osborne brought his neat car up from the South Isand.
When I get "photo shop" I'll try and brighten up these next few pictures. I'm a (stockcar) artist and I reckon Mark's car is very cool.
It reminds me of an old kiwi hot rod called "Road Hog", I wonder if anyone has got a picture to post of it..
I reckon this car's got a mean/chunky stance to it.
I'm not sure what sort of engine Mark Osbornes car run's, but it's sponsored by Wade Henshaw. Kyle Fraser's car next door.
A couple of the Kihikihi Kings big guns were there too, including the very experienced Kerry Remnant
Good to see Brad Ridland again.
and Stan Hickey

Liam McKenzie is a fan of Graeme Ward, and Dave Tarrant, and he helped clean the #7P Stockcar car on Sunday. Thanks Liam.
