Wow this is going to be an exciting week . Not sure wether this is the right place to add this but ive had a few enquiries re A Grades running. I can confirm that if sufficient numbers of A Grade saloons we will be running them as a support class. Definately in cromwell and will post more as I find out. So yes A Grades are not missing out and can start here in Cromwell as support grade. Any A Grades interested please post here or PM me. Regards Phil 15T Promoter

So, Ruapuna is in, drivers names to date are listed, the format is different and will provide for some interesting discussions. If I had to name one major disappointment not participating in this series, it would be missing out on racing at Ruapuna (see below). Perhaps they will have non-series competitors as a support class (a-grade saloons) ... ... Which has me ask, "Which tracks are to include non-series Agrades (saloons) on their race program as support races?"Format:
Cars will be split into two groups and will do two heats each, drivers will be seeded the first night, and the following nights competitors will be placed in groups going on their points from the previous night, the top six from each group will go to the A main with the remainder of the field going to the B main where the top four advance to the sixteen car A main.
The top four in points following the two heats from each group will go into the dash with the highest point scorer starting from the rear, the finishing order of the dash will be the front four rows of the feature, grids nine through twelve will be those cars who finished fifth and sixth in their group and grids thirteen to sixteen will be the top four from the B main.
PLEASE NOTE: While the format provides for the top sixteen cars at each round to contest the A Main, there's provision for inclusion of up to two further cars under extenuating circumstances. If a driver's placed in the series top ten overall on points and doesn't qualify for the A Main owing to a DNF caused by a flat tyre or similar problem or is the innocent victim of a racing incident, they may get a start in the A Main, at the organiser's discretion.[/i] www.saloons.co.nz/index.html

Hi Murray, Dew to the nature of the event, Island Park Speedway here in Dunedin will not be runing any other Saloons, A-Grades or Super Saloons on the night of the DHL series. Classes we will be runing on the night are Productions, Modified Productions, Street Stocks, Stock Cars and Youth Mini Stocks. To anyone intending on coming along, please check our new look web site closer to the event for updated news and start time. Cheers Mark

What on earth is a modified production? ? Sounds like another good promotion let down by a lack of support grades. At least you have streetstocks. You South Islanders have the best Streetstock racing I have ever seen.
