Please read the Discussion in Open wheel Forum ....Compulsory head and neck restraints.
This is something that is happening for the Midget Class only but I feel all drivers should be aware of what is happening as it WILL happen with Stockcars and other classes.

I find it a little bit ironic that the Open wheel rule making process that appears not to have worked at it should on this occasion is being touted as being the process that all other classes should be moving toward. Good luck with your mission Bill. If my past experience as an SNZ Director is anything to go by you will have a struggle to get something changed once the Directors get it in there minds to make it happen. Someone told me recently that to run that place all you needed to do was get 3 other like minded people ( Directors) to think the same way as you do and you can run the place. Perhaps we are now seeing that happen

I agree carwrecker. The super saloon class have just adopted this process and I believe that rules are already being alterd without proper consoltation. Admitadly they needed altering and clarifying. The solo and sidecar classes are starting to feel that their consultation process doesn't actually involve consoltation. Big concern is that even after all the consoltation the directors still make whatever decision they want. Good luck Bill and co. Hopefully this will draw attention to the problems so other classes can deal with it to.

... Someone told me recently that to run that place all you needed to do was get 3 other like minded people SHEEP ( Directors) to think the same way as you do and you can run the place. Perhaps we are now seeing that happen SNZ doesn't hold the franchise on this as it applies to the majority of boards, committees. Correction .. that's three sheep. They don't need minds, infact better they don't (follow the leader).Same principle was observed at the SNZ - amazing. One or two folk make the most obvious BS statements sound plausible, and the rest go BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, when it should be NAAAAAAAAAAAH. In car cameras, no mirrors on the 'non contact' saloons, etc spring to mind.

As I understand it, this process was introduced to keep the 'international' classes up to date with the overseas rules. So why have a process at all, just blindly follow whatever the US are doing. I can't see any difficulties there . If that is correct, why should this process be foisted on 'NZ only" classes like stockcars etc. The class technical committee's should be the people making the rules, and only with a clear mandate from the drivers.
