Very few combine the two classes and when they do, usually it ends up in tears. More often than not the combining is a result of trying to satisfy the needs of two or three super saloons that turn up. Often, not always, the supers will fail to respect the fact that it is a 'saloon' race, and that they are there as a privilage, not a right. SNZ rules require officials to get unanamous agreement from drivers before combining classes BUT they rarely do. Meeanee have combined the two classes on a regular basis and for the most part, successfully. They do, however, fail to recognise that it is primarily a 'saloon race' when awarding placings.

temarua combines them,as a saloon race the 2-3 supers start half a lap back, and quite often the saloons hold ther own, makes for good entertainment rarely an incident

No more incidents with or without the mix than the usual minor 1's

Seems to work fine and I can't think of any major incidents between cars from different classes? Of course you don't see Saloons going past Supers, but some of our top guys like Todd Moffat or Alan Jacob would often hold off a Super - as does Shane's giant killing 4W Mini sometimes - it's not that easy to get past a well driven Saloon even with a heap more power!

supers run off the front a lap down at eastern states works well gives them clear air to sort them out until later stages they have 3 competative saloons then several not so good as they dont know how to hold a race line and quite low on horsepower which has caused some interestig moments good to see mirrors outed so can drive whats in front and not behind good to see saloon class in the south RIP A grades

supers run off the front a lap down at eastern states works well gives them clear air to sort them out ... Statisically, most incidents in the saloon races occur in the first couple of laps (or first turn). Super Saloons are then on top of the saloons! As for the no mirrors, if the writer is suggesting the slower saloons are choosing to use them for blocking the supers (or faster cars) then that is a reflection of the quality of the refereeing, by not penalizing cars for blocking, shepherding, etc.
