That's one helliva list of entries. These meetings are going to be a 'must see'. There will be more on track action than seen at any stock car event, and that'll only be equalled by action in the refs box afterwards! ;D The format info makes for an interesting read. Might have to reconsider entering in the absence of my car not sold as yet ... Looking more like a modified without the front ...

And on the subject of awesome spectating, I recommend beginning with Woodford Glen's 'Super Saloon Champion of Champions' two day meeting on Friday 13 Nov and Saturday 14th Nov.
On the Sunday, begin your leisurely cruise down to Cromwell.

Alternative spectating - Stockcar teams racing at Eastern States on Saturday 14 November featuring the Eastern States Titans, Nelson, Christchurch and the KB’s Cowboys team from Palmerston North. Then on Sunday head off to Cromwell via the West Coast and Haast to take in some awesome scenery over two days.

After reading NZ Racer magazine I see that the Chch round is being held at Ruapuna, not Woodford Glen (the traditional home of saloons down there)

Seems strange that the Glen, who have such a rich history of saloon racing, would turn down the opportunity to host a round.

Seems strange that the Glen, who have such a rich history of saloon racing, would turn down the opportunity to host a round. I've raced 'the Glen' a few times and good fields of A-Grade Saloons have always been on the track. One of the purposes of the 'saloon' series was to introduce the saloon class to tracks in the South, to build the class. A-Grade Saloons are very strong at the Glen and it may be they have determined to build on what they have. Hosting any series has a significant dollar cost which, like any business, has to show a clearly defined benefit / return. I think it's great the series is going to Ruapuna as they do not normally have saloons on their programme. Ruapuna certainly best meets a series objective in this regard. An awesome track and I would very much like the opportunity to race on it!

I heard from the president at ruapuna it was basically a straight swap , ruapuna have the saloons for a night and the glen have the youth ministocks for a night. Good to hear your guys opinions.
Cheers

hey Murray are you coming down and racing? ... The car is ready at the front door. Was all set to travel down and wifey refused to travel sitting on the boot holding the luggage! Early on it was said (hoped) that all series venues would have non-series A-Grades/saloons racing as a support racing. I intended participating in those, plus at Woodford Glen the Saturday prior (Super Saloon Champion of Champions meeting)'
, possibly Ashburton or Oxford on the Sunday prior. To my frustration it has now been decided NO A-grade/saloon support races. - I'm gazzumpted for November! I'm somewhat passionate about our annual speedway South Island experience (and the whanau likewise)so it is likely we'll be down at some stage. Wife is doing the Milford track later in the season, so likely I'll do a few tracks myself! ;D
