Hi All, They have had some good numbers at practice, and we've seen some tidy shots of the cars. I understand tonights the night to kick things into gear - whats the weather looking like and is there any preveiw, or does anyone have any idea of what numbers are looking like for the start of the season in CHCH? Good luck to all who get there, and look foward to any photos that may arrive post the event an observer

Hey Obby
Weather in chch is cloudy but calm (no wind) not too cold and every now and then the sun tries to poke its head out from behind the clouds, so far the weather is behaving well so fingers crossed for a good night at the track by the mak ;D ;D ;D

It is supposed to change to rain tonight. I suppose the question is; what time is it changing to rain? We are ready to go so I hope it will stay fine!

Hey Dutchy, I hope you buffed that bonnet good! ;D Numbers are very good for tonight, The supers were looking pretty low at the start of the week but they have got them sorted now. Weather still overcast but calm and there is no smell of rain in the air, I reckon it's going to be a great night! BRING IT ON! ;D

Some great fields and awesome racing for an opening night. Lovin the Superstocks in the south.. i dont think any of them didnt get spun or spin someone or more.. thats very rare up North. 89C didnt pull off any huge hits but was great entertainment all night with alot of mad dives and blocks.. and reversing halfway around the track and swinging at people while doing so. Rosewarne and Ngatai were a cut above the rest in speed, Rosewarne getting one win and Ngatai getting the other 2, but the rest of the field kept them workin hard, especially 14C on Rosewarne.
The first Stockcar race was tame with everyone trying to get a good first heat in the trophy running, but the second was a cracker with alot of big hits and a nice pass by Pooh bear cramming the Woppit into the wall to get past. The 3rd heat started with a bang with all of the top people on points getting dealt to (44C, 81C, 5C).. but i think about halfway through, most of the planned targets were eliminated, so everyone just cruised til the end.
Streetstocks.. another class i love down here compared to the North.. 18 cars, and alotta contact.. just awesome. The first heat was OK with 55C getting the win, but the 2nd was fantastic with cars being dealt to left, right and centre and 18C getting the win. The 3rd was good but a little bit of a letdown after the mayhem of the second heat, and a few of the instigators not coming out. 9C won that one.
No rollovers for the night at all, the track was mint, and im unsure who won the trophys.. awesome night.

Super Saloons dominated by 58c Ritchie Taylor 3 outta 3 for him very small field.. no 3nz/6c or Boulton Racing Team.. modifieds were really good, with 5gm Brandon Parkinson in his new car and 84c Natasha Rogers Dominating the results.. Streeties had alot of fun I think the Kiwi Auto Spares team dominated .. mini stocks 3 outta 3 for 1nz /23c Tony Newman.

The Meeting last night would have to rate as one of the best opening nights I have been to. It was my first vist to Woodford Glen and I was impressed, Normally in yhe north Island I wouldnt bother with watching the streetstocks, but the guys down here were awesome. The Super Saloons were a bit boring but all other classes were great, Looking forward to the next meeting,
