And who can forget the entrance to the grand final with the 4 brand new hoosiers on brand new chrome rims.
Let alone the donuts when the chev pulled the biggest revs off the weekend at 9600.
Was a good weekend, but the final race and little action was the death knell off the one race final.
As an aside, the video footage of the meeting was excellent, with some excellent incar footage at the end of qualifiying night.

will be good to see the boss back on the track
have a lasting memory of a run off between him and Rodney Wood at palmy ..think it was for 240's one of the best i ever saw..both cars stationary at one stage

i remember being at palmy teams champs some years ago when boote cum flying down the back sraight and the rear of his car hit a parked car near the end of the straight witch sent him full noise head on to the concrete wall and he flew up in the air right in front of us and was level with the grandstand and then fell down on his lid i will never forget that moment in speedway

Thinking it might be worth the 90min trip to Blenheim on Saturday, just to hear that thing at 9600rpm.

And if you're going to poke borax at Boote for winning a "soft" title, what does that say about the other competitors in the field? It was a soft race.. and alot of that was because Boote had established himself as a force that would smash the hell outa you if you dealt to him. Not many of the drivers at that time wanted to try it on, so Bootes ride to 1NZ was an easier one than most, but one he had worked for previously. He was the best.. it will be interesting to see how he does in 09/10.

In fact, Blenheim was a one-man show too -- fairly dominant in the three heat format. But Bootey was faster, and yes, more feared than his rivals.
These things are rarely down to luck and there was no luck in the way Craig and his team approached a race meeting.

you must remember 1 of boote,s titles was a soft title in huntly where it was one of those weak 25 lapper format with almost zero action & all racing to decide the outcome not like evans/free/podjursky etc who had to race in the much tougher format of 3 heat finals. Weak win it may have been but remember who was in front of him and what was the grid start he had and all bets WERE NOT on him to win the deal but yet after 25 laps there he was. Format or not,he won it!!! All I know that its great have his type back in the Superstocks as it wont be long and that class is going to be struggling to find real sparkle and true heros if todays economics keep spiralling outwards like they are!! Just remember this is just my humble opinion here!!! PS: As for Dave Evans, you must remember that his 2nd Title at Rotovegas was where the previous years title holder had AUTOMATIC qualification into the Finals the next season so in a way that "softens" his exploits too eh??? Whatever really, whichever way a title is decided, the winner deserves it no matter how you look at it!!!

Yes i agree When the flag drops the bullnuts stops ,and to survive is a feet on its own let alone win. And this goes for all drivers who really put it on the line. I no i just cant wait the talent and machinery on show this year just blows me away .Bring it on
