The Rumour goes that ASSCC stood down their Super stocks so they could run at Huntly in return for the Huntly Super Saloons.

Hi Porry Clearly this has been a miss-understanding. I was told the Huntly Supersaloons were standing down in return for our Superstocks. It seemed like a perfectly rational senario at the time. When we had a ring around it became clear that it wasnt happening. Im sorry for the stress, part of the job I guess. Cheers Stuckey

Sadly, it's the spectators that lose out of this situation. Premier classes running with half a dozen or so cars each, in two different venues an hour apart is a joke!

Yes Murray your rumour may be true and possibly add Kevin Moore Ben Harding Brent Emmerson and maybe Garry Edwards 6m to the list. I understand Ben will be an M, I know for sure Kevin Salle is an M (Was there with him signing up). most of the others will again by an M car. Won't be surprised to hear 1NZ goes to Huntly along with 7M, who knows, I guess we will see next Saturday night.......

Dead right Teams Junkie , where I had toyed with the idea of attending both Waikaraka's and Huntly's opening this sort of stupid clash means I will probably stay put . Pity Huntly couldn't have gone with a sunday 6pm opening is my first thought on the subject . I guess if I go anywhere it will be Waikaraka , they had the date first.(and probably the better show)

Did hear some baypark super saloon drivers were overheard telling the promoter that any driver entering the sscar series should not be allowed to register to baypark .Maybe the reason why bayparks loss is huntlys gain. Always the person hiding behind nick-name that starts all the rumors a! What is fact is that Willie has stated that any Mount registered car will not be given clearance if Bay Park Supers are racing on that night. Maybe be a reason why a couple of cars may choose to go elsewhere, if they have. Guess that would show where their loyalty is.

Maybe their loyalty is to Super Saloon FANS who want to see a decent field get together instead of less than 6 at Baypark. Maybe their loyalty isnt to someone who always seems to try and hamper attempts at progress like this.

Been a long time since Baypark has run less than 6 Supers.
I've never seen it.
Baypark has been a bastion of strength for a class which struggles to get a decent field anywhere in the North Island.
But back to the main issue, good to see nothing has changed between the club of the year and Wacky Park. Running Superstocks and Super Saloons against each other produces no winners.
Mind you, neither Superstocks or Super Saloons seem to be able to find their way to each others tracks more than once a season bar a few exceptions.
And can someone tell me why no one is opening on Labour weekend? Traditionally a Baypark date, labour weekend is open this year while three tracks open the following weekend.
But the choice on the 31st is an easy one. Baypark will have full fields of Ministocks, Stockcars, Saloons and Sprintcars whilst also having the biggest Super Saloon field of the three tracks. And it will finish at a decent hour.

Good grief, the season has barely started and the moaning is well underway...... I know it is not good to run classes against each other at tracks that are near by but sometimes this happens... As for tracks opening on the same weekend... You can squarely put that down to the weather.... but then thats probably the track committees fault as well. And opening Labour weekend maybe a good idea but volunteers who run these meetings have lives outside of speedway as well so perhaps it did not suit....

As mentioned elsewhere on this board, Baypark has changed from being "The Oval by the Ocean" to "The Oval BALL by the Ocean", so that's why the later opening. It's to be hoped the weather will play ball next week (no pun intended).

Wellington has already postponed opening night to 7th November - weather just hasn't allowed everything to be completed on time. See www.wellingtonspeedway.co.nz for details
