Opening night this week at WP is looking good, with a great line up for the first night . Drivers reps report the following numbers expected for opening night .
Street stocks 15 Mini Sprints 15 Modifieds 7 Saloons 21 Super Saloons 5 Mini-stocks 35 Stock-cars 28 plus the teams race with Gisborne Plus FIREWORKS.
Haven't seen these numbers being talked about for opening night in a long time.
I know where Ill be on Saturday night .

So counting Minisprints, that looks like about 125 cars in the pits on Opening Night. Best get the big tractor in and push the grandstand along a bit to make enough room ;D

You've certainly got my attendence on Saturday night. It looks like the racing will get off to a flyer. Have a great season Waikaraka Park & GO THE ALLEYCATS!

No mention of Superstocks, they are still listed in 2 places on WP website. Have they been stood down so they can run at huntly opening. If not are there any indications of numbers. Looks like a great lineup for the start of the season. Thanks Smeats

Was wondering that myself Smeats, and was hoping if the Superstocks were stood down they'd be plenty of the rumoured Huntly-contracted Super Saloons headed toward Auckland. It's certainly looking like a good start to what will hopefully turn out to be a rejuvenated Waikaraka Park.

I'm guessing Super saloons will be looking to do as many laps as possible at Huntly with the Huntly Super Saloon Champs in 4 weeks and the NZ Champs early Jan 2010.

Was just going by the earlier talk of each club standing down one of their two "Super" classes Murray, as they've now ended up competing directly against each other.

Hi
Originally we had SuperStocks on the Program but with 26 events and Huntly being cancelled two weeks ago we opted to stand down our SuperStocks to support Huntly.
We look forward to a sucessful opening night and hopefully with all our ducks in a ROW the show should be a good one.

Aaron, thanks for the clarification but please ensure someone updates the website which listed Superstocks in the update only a couple of days ago. Well done on the other fields for opening night, as long as they all turn up. Keep the heat on the class Reps. Look forward to seeing heaps of happy faces to welcome in the new season. Cheers Smeats

I hear what you saying Murray , however with only 3 Super Saloons at Huntly's practice last Saturday , I'm not so sure.

Seperate out 6 and combine with the super saloons. Two good fields providing close racing.

Car all ready for the weekend, team has a nice balance to it an am sure will not disappoint on race day-a nice warm up for Huntly(funny how people use to use Huntly as a warm up for Wellington) With places up for grabs in the GLADIATORS it would be wise to show your form so those that stayed home will have to earn their way back in. As for our mate Andrew 78b He's been knocking on the door of the maulers for a couple of seasons now.If he hadnt been selected for them this year the Gladiators had first dibs on him - they not know how close they called it(the maulers)but all good and we appreciate him filling in at the 11th hour Roll on Saturday.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
