Barry dean is having a season off.bald Yes, I just put "reportedly" in case he changes his mind at the last second ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I'm wondering whether the growth of these various Series is an indication competitors, in some classes at least, feel this is how their NZ title should be run? Now I personally wouldn't like to see that happen, I love the all-in-one-weekend setup we have currently, but there certainly seems to be a desire on the competitors behalf to do some things differently. At many tracks now, it's the only way of getting a decent field for the fans to drool over in several of the glamour classes. I think there's room for both, and hopefully all parties can agree on that and we don't have any stupid splits whereby the only people that really suffer are the already long suffering fans.......

I suppose the only way to know is take a look at opening night and see what shows . any volunteers?. Might have to put my own hand up and wander over for a look see . I really do hope it's not all as bad as it seems at the moment . I was planing on doing Bayparks(58km) opening but the good feild of Superstocks and Super Saloon are pulling me to Huntly(81km). But will be at Baypark for Harry Fredrickson Memorial Stock Car Gold Cup

How could anyone think losing super saloon drivers of this caliber is a gain, doesn't matter who's coming back, plus they are losing their most entertaining stockcar driver as well.

Have to agree the Huntly lists are impressive . Do wish they would learn the difference between McInteer and McIntyre though .

Kevin Salle is listed as 31m on one website, 31h on the other - one of them must be wrong.

Anyone trying to stop class run series is being foolish. You can the same cars week in, week out, and it is going to get boring for any crowd, especially when there is only 3-10 cars and their speeds vary radically. Having a travelling series in all of our premiere classes should be encouraged to help the class grow, thrive and entertain.
Im glad these drivers got up and left.. most of us Auckland exodus people had similar reasons, and look how bad that got for the club at times.

In the past visiting supers seem to have been welcome. I wonder if that will be the same this season for the "prodigals".
How many clashes are there between BP & H. KK meets Sunday arvo so there's no clash there.

Agree, very interesting steeeldog.
Supers are usually welcome at BP. However Willie does have the tendancy to have the last word even if it is detrimental to the show.
time will tell. I hope the supers can appear in numbers as the are "the" class at BP

If you want to see lots of Supers go Support the series, thats where you will see 17 car super saloon fields and a race format that will out shine the same old 8 lap heats & 10-12 lap feature of Baypark
You cant sit at Baypark and expect good fields week in and out..
When then theres not a big Super event elsewhere you will get the drivers at baypark.

I wont start a debate about the merits of series. I think everyone knows my thoughts!
I don't think Baypark will lose out too much. Chances are the "exodus cars" will still race there when they aren't racing at Huntly or as part of a series.
Pretty much the same situation as last season.

Yes Percy, things will be much the same as in the past, you need to laugh at the so called experts that know everything, when they in fact know bugger all. Reality is that BP are losing 1NZ and that is about it for this season, we HAVE picked up Kevin, Ben etc to Bay Park and understand Emerson is also a M car, so what is all the crap talk about? I will be back as 11m. although will be unable to make the first meeting due to Family reasons (The car is ready). So Bay Park loses 1NZ because he throws his toys out of the cot because Wille won't give him everything he wants, BIG DEAL! Do you honestly think all tracks should start arranging everything around every time a big headed, bleating driver who thinks speedway revolves around them? It was his decision not to register at Bay Park because of the clash dates with a Private Series, not the other way around, so get it right. Whilst I support the thought of a Super Saloon series, there are so many issues people don't understand about running a private series within the SNZ framework. Losing any car has nothing to do with wanting to do more laps at Huntly, simply over sized Ego's getting in the way of common sense. Yes SNZ need to get off their butts and involve series to promote the class, but pigs also fly on Sundays....

Pretty harsh words there Neville. He's obviously not on your Xmas card list. Despite all the talk, who's got an "H" or an "M" on their car, particularly out of the present (or maybe now past BayPark drivers) supposedly involved in that "private series" still remains to be seen. Those drivers, as far as I've heard being Emmerson, Harding, Edwards, Moore & of course 1NZ. Fact is, I believe BayPark will still see plenty of these guys anyway. Admitally I don't know the workings of SNZ, but for my mind that "private series" (SSCAR) is one of the best things to happen to Super Saloon racing if you want to see top line racing with an excellent format. North Is & South Is. I applaud anybody who gets involved in it. I hope it can be made to work in with SNZ and all the club's/promotion's programmes. I know I've got a few rounds at least programmed into my travelling schedule this season.

No real hard feeling towards any driver, just sick of uninformed people raving about Bay Park and Willie Kay, all evil starts here according to most people, just trying to get some balance into the argument. Yes fully agree the SSCAR series is great, has been the best thing ever done for Super Saloons maybe? Trouble is working it within the SNZ framework without all the issues. I applaud the guys that started and run the series, but still run outside of SNZ will always cause issues, maybe just time to bring it inside SNZ somehow to stop the issues around it?

As a speedway spectator for over 40 years , from forrestlake to baypark old track , when we saw out of town drivers hit our tracks was magic . When Barry Hunter came to Baypark we new Sledgehammer was going to get him , or 5m , the flagman . Now days you have to have a pass out and a pass in and if some one Mrs dos,nt like you . you don.t get a drive . As a paying customer for 40 years , they have never surveyed me to see what i like. Telecom do better than that , and they arn,t that addictive and may change to another phone company at any time. As a supporter of baypark . i know you can have 7 super saloons on the track at one time and have a good race , as long as 6 of them arn,t racing for last . You can have 5 stock cars on the track and still have a good race as well , as long as they hit the other stock cars when they try and pass them. Maybe some promoters should think more about whats good for the spectators before they leave. No spectators . No atmosphere. Just a view from a dedicated follower of speedway ;D
