yes,joker.........that's where F2's fit. An ideal next class for kids outgrowing ministox..........hit-to-pass contact allowed...........graded starts for good close racing.As well as established drivers,who want to be able to hit-without the full on stockcar contact. IMO............ministocks are a great,well-thought introductory class FOR KIDS..........adult ministocks have no place in mainstream(Saturday night)speedway. Vic Neal Well said nrp165 , I totally agree , as miniskirts should be for kids or even JUST a feeder class to stock cars , should only be allowed to spend 3 or 4 years in this grade and then move up . With some people it may be a cost thing , but at our track there is a wally who carry's his mini-SKIRT around in a bus , he does't realize how ridiculous he is when he pull's up in his bus and this pathetic little thing comes out the back for a grown man to drive You really have no idea do you? The bus is so he can fit THREE ministocks which both adults AND youth race, if he had one ministock he would have a trailer like everyone else. He is a great ambassador for the class and does a hell of a lot of work around our complex. I don't think it is helpful for you to call him a wally, in fact the only thing ridiculous and pathetic I can see is y..... (best I stop there before I get in trouble) As for F2's, no thanks no need for them.

While i have my opinion on ministocks and their place in speedway the facts speak for themselves 'well they do here in CHCH . There are at least 24 of us that have gone on to race stockcars and a few that have gone up to superstocks as well . So I don't think any club can stand to loose 24 members which is proberly what would have happened . Like em or not they are a great feeder grade {i say bitting my tongue hard}

I started racing about 10yrs ago when i 19, at the time i was doing a apprenticeship as a fitter/welder the pay was not great but i saved enough to buy my 1st race car a ministock i spent 3yrs in this class learning the ropes before moving up to stockcars which i raced for 6yrs. I am now in my 1st year racing a modified and are loving it, without ministocks who knows if i would be racing today.
However running to groups of ministocks in one night is a bit much maybe bring back the contact in adult ministocks or run the youth before and after the meeting.

I see merits in all of the classes mentioned, especially Youth Ministocks, i myself am a Kart graduate along with alot of the Speedway drivers my age, and i daresay alot of us would have been racing Ministocks rather than Karts if they were around. I even get the whole graduate to Adults thing, and i especially thought the Youth and Adult sharing i saw in Stratty about a decade ago was great having been a budget racer most of my racing, but that just doesnt seem to happen anymore. Youth Ministocks..There is novelty for non regular fans, of them being kids.. and for regs also it is quite cool to try and pick who the skilled drivers are and follow them as they graduate into bigger grades over the years for fans, and to see how top drivers kids/siblings do etc. Production Saloons.. Easy class to get into.. not all that entertaining, but a very valid budget and feeder class. The cars are accessable and easy to recognise to non regular fans. Due to width, id say it is much harder to pull a pass than in Ministocks, and thus i would say makes it more skill producing. Adult Ministocks.. People say its cool to just graduate from Youth and not have to change cars.. but why not sell it and get a similar priced Production? If there were no Adult Ministocks, would adult drivers get a Production Saloon/Streetstock/ Budget Stockcar and bolster their numbers instead? They do in Auckland, Huntly, Baypark, Rotorua, Kihikihi and many others. I am keen to hear why people choose adult ministocks over production saloons.

Vic Neal some would say that suzuki class racing and the production class have no place at the big meets ........but they are both at the nzv8 weekends . perhaps we need to look at the bigger picture with regards to that group of drivers bringing more sponsors to the track. Alot of the ppl on this board would be speedway fanatics or diehards who the class does not feed their need but we are only a small percentage of the spectator pool, its the other large group of jo publics we should be more concerned about getting through the gates

A bus which fits 3 cars is a great idea.Also this person lends his cars out to drivers all the time. Maybe you should stick to your schoolwork and not hassle people that enjoy racing. Now you race a ministock,when your too old to race in youth,come to adults and we will see how good you are, when your hanging off the fence!!!!!!!!

First of all , get your fact's right , I do NOT race a mini-SKIRT & what is wrong with having an opinion . It is clear that other people feel the same , that this grade should be a feeder class and not for SOME people to spend so many years in . Mind you the best thing about the mini-SKIRT race's is that , That is the time for the public to go to the toilet , get a drink or something to eat or even chat to other people about the real race's .

Are they still allowed full contact? And if they are not, why are there these and Production Saloons at alot of tracks rather than just one non contact budget class? From my experience.... Its full contact at Stratford & Wanganui...... Trouble is....no one bothered to tell the Refs the real rules !!!!Or the drivers for that matter !!

i find this topic pretty s*%t really, adult ministocks has been a feeder class in palmerston north for 16 stockcar drivers,thats just the last 3 or so seasons, some who have progressed to teams racing, national podiums and local podiums, at the end of the day what is bringing in F1 or F2's going to achieve, you will only get the same people coming on here saying how boring they are for 1, no contact and 2, how much faster will they be to a ministock. when i raced ministocks we had two carloads of people at the track to watch just me, so 30 other drivers are bringing in carloads, that pay gate entry which pay your superstock , stockcar drivers, to entertain you. Whilst some of you dont like adult ministocks go get your chips, or hotdogs, because at the end of the day, when you get up hundreds of other spectators are sitting and enjoying watching all racing including adult ministocks. Or you take your $20 entry money and go to the movies or buy 2 beers at the pub.
