What do you guys think about people registering to 2 speedway clubs? eg peter rees to palmy and nelson for the superstock.
I think that drivers should register to only one club with the same car unless they are sharing the car with another driver eg say kevin brooks to rotorua and his other driver (sorry cant remember name) to say huntly.
Was just havin a conversation with dad about it the other day and saying how we think its wrong for north/south cars to register to a north/south club just so they can compete in the north/south champs.
Was just curious as to see what you guys thoughts were on the subject

Lets not put our heads in the sand here. Good on the drivers that wish to reg to more than 1 club. Spreads talent around and fills the fields for better spectator viewing. After all bums on seats is all good

Driver's don't need to register elsewhere to support another club - and I don't think you'll see as much of it this year as last year somehow.

Registered or just joined the club?
Does the car have a "p" or "n"?
I thought a car/driver could only run in one or the other island champs?

you can race anywhere but you have to get your local track to allow it first according to the rules ive seen in the rulebook

In order to register with a track, one would think you have to be a member first, which is why membership has to be transferred between clubs isnt it ?? And yes you can only do one Island Championship.

A competitor can be a member of as many clubs as they wish. They can only contract to one club. A competitor can transfer their contract to another club either permanantly or temporarily if both their original club and their new club are agreeable. A competitor can only compete in one island championship reguardless of whether they transfer their contract after they have competed in the other Island championship.

The way things read to me you can do North Champs in one class and South Champs in another class provided you are not contracted to appear in your North Class on the night your second class is running the South Champs, this could be a win/win situation for both tracks as far as bums on seats is concerned if its a driver of Peter Rees reputation and ability!! Thoughts anyone,I'd be the first to admit I could be wrong.

Hmm.. well ive done both. In 99/2000 i was registered as an Auckland Standard Stockcar driver and a Kihikihi Limited Saloon driver. Nobody had a problem with that as Dad was racing the Saloon as well, and we had both cars at most meetings and shuffled drivers. In 04/05, myself and the KT racing/Ridland team registered to both Kihikihi and Auckland and ran AK as our numbers.. i was 15AK. We supported both tracks to the fullest, but Auckland still complained about it, so we went solely Kihikihi. Im unsure why we did it, i think it was because we fitted in better at Kihikihi but our workshop was directly across from WP.. Kihikihi didnt mind, and raced 2-3 of our cars on their team, and both tracks were bolstered by 4 cars, 3 of whom run or smashed hard, and a new guy. I still dont get what the issue was, but i think things got changed alot after that.

We belong to both Wellington and Whanganui clubs we want to support them both but our cars are registered to Whanganui for this season. Which means we have Whanganui licences. But we enjoy racing at both tracks.
