Just wondering what drivers/owners charge to let someone drive for a night. My drive fell through last season due to the weather and car has been leased out this year. Just want to tick a been there done that box. Ta FREE!!! Of all the drivers who have driven my cars over the years i have never charged a penny. Ask Keith Spanake, he drove my modified for a night, i gave the mod to a mate in Stratford for a few months. No problem. All i ask is you repair any damage. Come see me Mike when ive got the car to Rotorua and im sure we can squeeze you in. What a great guy!!!! ;D Awesome way to introduce keen people into the sport.

Thanks Mr, I just dont see the point in charging someone just to drive, if they dont do any damage, where does the money go??? We should be helping ppl into the sport not charging like wounded bulls.

engine maintenance...it all costs money.
cost of engine rebuild devide by the amount of meetings you get from a fresh engine = what each meetings costs on the engine...plus oil changes, air filters...clutch wear, tyre wear(if any)...

Have to agree, wat happens if an engine lets go, or the car gets totally hammered?? Will you be able to front the costs of that? Dont want to sound like a pr!ck but these things can happen and it aint cheap to fix

Hey I agree with what is being said about costs, damage etc. That why you have to have a good chat with the owner about what is acceptable on track and whats not, if this light comes on do this. Its all about common sense. As the driver/owner told me last year, "you wont be able to do as much damage as Im capable of, have fun" And he is a top driver/teams racer with a very good rep of hitting hard. But nuts happens, then you deal with it.

Yep, nutse happens. Unless the fault of the car/owner then consider the bill yours. Still rebuilding one of ours that only did 2 laps with a newbie trying it out. He was told to take it easy and get the feel of the track/car. Smacked the wall at full tilt after crossing up in the corner. The bill is mounting up and it's theirs to pay. We are doing all the steel work and most of the labour, but the motor needed to be pulled down to be welded. Won't make tonight but should be out next meet.
