i raced at Huntly last weekend and was told my roll cage was illegal but they had no reason why it was. and with talking to s.n.z this week they still cant tell me what is wrong with it but yet i cant race my car. they have told me i have to wait till December till they have a meeting and figure out what the problem is what a joke

What? How can you be stopped from racing if they can't tell you why? That's bizarre. And not a little unfair.

im waiting for a phone call from john. i was expecting to race Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but thats turned to custard now thanks to s.n.z Turn up at the tracks you intended to compete at, be upfront, and seek dispensation from the Chief Steward. The Chief Steward has the authority to allow you to race provided no significant competitive advantage or safety compromised unduly. If John has inspected the car he can certainly advise on the above, maybe even phone the tracks you wish to race at. Hopefully common sense will be applied. Go for it!

Yes Johnny Viles was at Huntly opn Saturday and was going around making sure that the drivers had a 100mm clearance from the Rollcage and/or the head plate.
There was at least 1 Stockcar and a SuperStock that I saw who will have to make changes to either the rollcage or the way the seat is mounted (If room allows).
It seems a few of the seats are mounted to close to the rear rollbar hoop which then doesn't allow for the 100mmm clearance....

So in effect - there are two options - move seat to lower in the car.
Or chop off roll cage and build a new one.
I know which option i'd be looking at.
And sometimes, that coomfy foam cushion you sit on can come out and give you another 30mm clearance to play with, which might just fix the problem...
