Our sponsor for the meeting - Samsung Electronics - will also be sending along a few of their "Ambassador's" to wander through the crowd and demonstrate the latest Samsung Digital Cameras and Camcorders. The Samsung ladies will be taking pictures with members of the crowd, drivers, etc, and posting them on the Samsung Events website so people can grab copies later for their Facebook pages, etc! I hear there might also be a draw for some top line Samsung product on the night - so yet another reason to come along! Weather is looking good for the weekend - so make sure you're there to see some of the countries top Saloon drivers turn on a great nights racing!!

Just an apology for Phil Towgood's Tuesday morning session on Radio B Sport being both later and shorter than originally planned. The incompetent who sent through the contact details forwarded the wrong pre-fix to go with the right phone number, meaning the discussion on the Saloon class, the DHL Series and the GP meeting were somewhat abbreviated.

Groups are up on the www.wellingtonspeedway.co.nz website now if you want to check who is up against who to qualify! Also just been speaking to the promoter - because of the size and quality of the field he is also looking at adding on a secondary cup for the non qualifiers to run off for - so another extra to the meeting! Make sure you're there on Saturday night

No, Ramjam has a slight double up there - 27W is John Fearon - last minute entry from another local car.
John is a pretty good peddler too - and his car is a Hot Rod - man can that boy build a nice shiny car - I just love the attention to detail on it - every bracket, every panel is a thing of beauty!!

Murray,
The Wellington site has profiles on 9W, 10W and 98W under - Classes - Saloons (ignore the driver info on 98W as of course its HRC in the pilots chair - think you might of heard of him before)!!
Stu 17W I think you know well, as you would also Jake 42W - 24W Gary Marshall is an ex 1NZ Streetstock champion, as well as a successful Saloon convert - and the Wellington car that travels the most, so seen around the country a lot.
12W Nigel Grenside has been around Wellington Saloons for a few years now, always tidy and on the pace.
7W John McGrath is an ex Modified driver with a very sharp looking LRC Mustang, new to Saloons this year but going well.
27W John Fearon is a long time Wellington Saloon racer with a nice self built Corvette - he won a Wellington Dirt Cup in a previous car in his first season (a real old nail that I might have built very badly... and John fixed)!
91W Mark McIntyre is a first year driver - taking over the car from his father (also Mark McIntyre).
So that's pretty much the low down on the Wellington contingent - put money on 10W, 24W, 42W and 98W to be well in with a shot is my call!!

Very sheltered out at Te Marua - so probably not much above Force 10... And no worries - you're welcome - should I change my name to "Snapper13W"! ;D ;D ;D Seriously though - going to be a great event, a really top field and we're pleased to see so many quality cars coming down to support the event - thanks everyone! Come on Wellington fans - make sure you get out there tomorrow night to support the local contingent!! Cheers Chris Hadley

Updated entries on the Wellington Speedway site now! 27W - John Fearon 21H - Steve Williams - as predicted by Grandad! 98W - no, not Tony Cardno - Martin Halcrow! So, our WSS President is having a turn in one of his own HRC chassis (not sure if that's a first and if he's ever raced a Saloon before?) definitely had a 2NZ and quite a few GP titles in Supers though!! The sun has even come out this afternoon - here's hoping it stays around till Saturday martin halcrow driving the 98w haha i think all u out of towners r in for a shock 10w 24w 42w and now 98w keep urs eyes open when these guys lap yous very quick cars
