A reminder to all drivers planning to enter this event that entries close on December 9th (next Wednesday) So as to assist the promotions team, entrants are asked to have there entries in as soon as is practicable so planning can continue to progress. Although this is programmed as a two-day meeting, this will be reviewed depending on the number of entries received by the close-off date, so please dont leave it to the last minute. Entry forms are available here - www.speedway.co.nz/asp/archive.asp

Have heard the proximity to xmas being mentioned as a bit of a barrier to war office support to getting to that meeting.
Will make further enquiries about Greymouth representation at this meeting and remind them of the cut off date.
cheers

Anywhoooo...... i digress. Entries for this are going well, and at least 2 GM cars have their entries in the mail Obby and i picked up another at Chch at the weekend. However it is now only 3 days till entries close so all intending competitors should ensure that they dont miss out by getting entries in asap

tHANKS for the update godfather - I have heard there may be another couple of entries to come.
Is there any indication of leaning towards 2 or one days racing?
Thanks for the the insight - and yes - immediatly post xmas does make it tough for the teams event in wellington. it will be interesting also to see how many teams make it this year to that event also.

I guess at this stage obby its status quo as far as a two day meeting goes until told otherwise, which should be able to be confirmed once entries close on wednesday and a better idea of numbers has been gathered.
If I was a betting man though, and with the info i have had today, i would think it will be a two-dayer (provided those drivers that have declared their intentions actually enter)
Once any OFFICIAL information is available it will be released by the club in due course

Gee only 19 cars Can anybody tell me why nelson picked this date? I'm sure there must be a good reason? I'm sure you will see quite a few more cars once entries have closed. Have you ever tried to set a season calendar? It is not the most onerous task within the club. The NZ's, GP, World of Stocks, Stockshock, Teams Champs and no doubt other meetings as well are all after Xmas. It has to fit in somewhere.

At present that is rather disappointing from a class that showed so much promise a season or two ago - come on drivers get your act together and support your class!!!

It could have been held anytime in the last 6 weeks. The season does start by November for most tracks At this time of year everybody is trying to get there work jobs finished before christmas. I know for sure that I would not have a s@#t show in getting the friday off to trave to nelson.

Fair comment, you may well be correct in saying it could have been run earlier.

Hope this helps
G13-2-9 All competitors entering a North Island, South Island or New Zealand Championship must have raced in that class for at least 3 meetings in the current season or have raced in that class for at least 3 meetings in the previous season and at least 1 meeting in the current season and be a New Zealand resident

exactly as cabby1 pasted Gav, so unless you can find a meeting being held somewhere in NZ to run at before the weekend or get dispensation from SNZ - with a good reason as to why you wnat the dispensation - I think you may be out of luck....
