Easy really. Dale has his own stockcar, can do what he likes with it i.e. teams race. He is also a dedicated Wellington club member i.e. does a lot more than just rock up and drive at Te Marua. The Superstock is owned by someone else, therefore the owner can set the terms i.e. where to contract. Dale was offered the opportunity to drive the Superstock, said yes, as one would. Totally agree

I find it a wee bit funny that people are commenting like he is already racing for the Rebels. No team has been chosen, we don't even know the names of those drivers that have bravely put their names forward. If the Dale makes himself available and the car is good enough... and then he gets picked... yay, another proven teams racer for the Rebels. There is a real glut of of good talent and machinery this year at the valley with the likes of Osborne, Refern and now Dale. With Ashby, Fraser, Hewson, Aldridge from last year the competition will be tough. I am just hoping for a great rebels team... and I live in the Mighty Waikato... Can't wait to see what happens with Dale and the Rebels, and my two Waikato teams... bring on some superstock teams racing!!!

With the bagging of Dale allready, and the ra da ra about the Rebels, you will have to wait and see the only 2 that should know now in my opinion would be The owner that calls the shots Geoff James,And the driver who could either flag race and win or put you on your lid just as easy as that,Dale,he has huge talent and ability and hes a Welly boy through and through ,look at what hes achieved ,Dale and bro inlaw Richie would do good in any grade as it takes a good driver to win races as well as machinery, hes got the ability and im sure hes got the machinery ,watch this space im sure hell make ,Geoff proud to have him as a driver and im sure he will do us speedway junkies proud and open a few eyes or 2 on the way. Hes with the best in the buisness and im sure he can be the best ,Good luck Dale 89r(w)

Probably speaks highly of the Rotorua club that a great stockcar driver like Dale was willing to contract there! Well done I say!

My theory, other than he races where the guy who owns the car wants to race. It seems they are thinking ahead. Not many Superstocks in Wellington to race against. Could contract and race at Palmy. Rotorua host the NZ's the year after KK, so why not race the car there? not only get plenty of track time in good fields of Superstocks but also having an "R" on your car when the NZ's are there would certainly be helpful.

Correct 666 Dales interview he did last week on www.bsport.co.nz/ confirmed that Geoff is the owner and Dale will drive it as Geoff can not drive anymore due to the injury suffered as 666 has stated Cheers
