How many other SNZ tracks around N.Z give drivers a chance if their car is found to be illegal??
2 ministocks recently at Woodford Glen were found to be more than 10 to 1 compression ratio, the book says 10 to 1 is the maximum.
They got no fine, no suspension and were allowed to race that night.
Whats the point in having rules if you give them a chance.
They were caught cheating & were let away with it.
Its not fair on the other drivers who are out there trying to win.
They should have been suspended & their motors should have been pulled down!!

And the SNZ Steward's and Scrutineer's reply to you question was Or did you take your concern directly to SNZ?

Were they 10.1:1 or 11:1?
How accurate was the testing gear, when last checked?
Were the motors hot or cold?

On boxing day I had the pleasure to be at the Springs. But blow me down I had two male dads sitting next to me that spent 20minutes moaning about illegal mini-stocks and the officials at tracks. Thankfully the racing started and I could no longer hear them. To them and other Parents of mini stocks stop your moaning take your complaints to the boards and let your kids get on with sport.

Having just had a phone call from the person involved in checking these cars that night, he asked me to tell their side of the story. He said yes, there were 3 found to be over the max allowed but you also forgot to mention there were 3 also found to be under the max....coming in at 5.0:1 compression. One car owner has since pulled the motor down and had it checked out and it is spot on to the rules @ 10.0:1. The machine was checked since & found to be out of calibration and has since been calibrated and now checks out compressions spot on. So therefore your suggestion that the SNZ officials turned a blind eye to the 3 over comp cars is a little left field & not quite true, they realised there was a problem & have since rectified it. Shame you could not provide the full story..... Craig Hughes

Hey if you can't beat the fast guys, you just take them out, that slows them down, until they catch you again. lol ;D Mine came in just over 9 in compression. I think the night we were checked there were only about 13 cars, so if those 3 cars were suspended it would have only left 10 of us, not very exciting for the crowd to watch. Maybe an idea is to re-check all the cars again,on a random basis so no-one knows when you will be checked? I dunno just a suggestion. If you can't beat em, spin em

pitcrewchief, I suggest if you come on here complaining about a situation, you present the full facts, and state your interest in said situation. Speedway is awash with rumour and halftruth merchants.
Thread locked.
