Huntly speedway once again demonstrating an ability to think outside the square to assist achieve their objectives ...
Cricket fans get chance to meet Steve Williams
Aside from getting the chance to watch some top grade cricket involving New Zealand Black Caps, people heading to Blake Park to watch Northern Districts play in the HRV Twenty20 Cup are in with the chance to win a trip to a USPGA event and meet Tiger Wood’s Kiwi caddie Steve Williams.
Huntly Speedway and Northern Districts Cricket have partnered to deliver this prize for this competition being run at Blake or Seddon Park in Hamilton or at Huntly Speedway. To enter it people will have to be at the game in person to fill out the entry form. Northern Districts Cricket CEO David Cooper says, "Steve Williams is one of the most recognisable New Zealand sportsmen and obviously a speedway fanatic. In talking with Huntly Speedway about how we can work together to benefit both sports, we identified Steve as someone who would help us achieve that. However, we have also been working together on other opportunities for our two sports to work together with an eye to a long term relationship." Huntly Speedway vice president Nigel Wilton says, "We are both family oriented sports that have similar goals – to let people come to our events and have fun. We both agree we are not in opposition so, therefore, why not work together? " The first game at Blake Park is the opening match of the HRV Cup domestic Twenty20 competition on Saturday, January 2, at Mount Maunganui from 3pm – first ball at 4.30pm.

Great inititive.
Shame the game didn't start earlier. I wanted to take my boys to the cricket and then to the final of the saloon champs.
Might almost get the first innings in if gate prices aren't to steep.

Living in Ohope, it would mean three trips to the Mount in three days.
Sat speedway Sun Cricket Mon stunt show.
Finally on holiday and don't have to travel there 5 days a week for work. Also got beach and fishing to fit in. Can't do everything unfortunately. Decisions decisions, living in the sunny BOP (especially when it is sunny lol).
Might do the half game of cricket and then the speedway, and have the sunday off to socialise.
Yay.
