Stockcar drivers this is the most unique trophy in N.Z. speedway and one of the most sort after. Check out the Oceanview website !!! A great chance to test the Wanganui track before the N.Z. Champs in Feb. 2pm start allows those of you going home from the G.P. in Palmy to call in and get some much needed time on a real drivers track. The website has contact numbers, give Mark a call.

Judging by the number of entries for the GP according to Palmy's website, this could be an excellent event. Here's hoping that the chance to get a practice drive at Oceanview prior to the NZ Champs is too big a temptation for many to resist! It's certainly shaping up as an excellent weekend of stockcar racing.

Should be a great start to Oceanviews season. Three days of stockcar racing if you include the G.P. at Palmy, a spectators dream. I know there are a number of out of town drivers already committed to give it their best shot to take " The Charlie" out of Wangas.

Went up to practice last night, I agree poi the oval looks awesome. Drivers don't forget if you can make contact if you intend coming to the "Charlie" it will help the organisers. If you make a last minute decision to come you are most welcome.

Personal invite for Swaze 4p to come take your streetstock for a run at Wanganui. It looked really good taking the flag at the bay. Would really appreciate your support also there was a nice old school ford 10p would be even better if you could get him to come over as well. Obviously with the NZ Champs not too far away some of us are try ing to minimise damage. Also sorry for the late invite as we were not running the streetstocks on the 10th initially. WE have cars coming from Strat ford and Wellington. Shame 7b is not coming as that car is fast.

Hope it stays fine both nights for the G.P. in Palmy. Sure don't want Palmy to run Sat. and Sun. anyone who's in touch with "him upstairs" put a kind word in for Oceanview, cheers.

Elmo I was not sure who had the nice new old school 10p. So it is Gareth's. Where is your Streetstock Elmo and also Mr Mark Spiers where is his. We had no idea Streetstocks were running this Sunday until we got too many inquiries and the club decided to run them. As we are Derby teams racing both this Sunday and then again next Friday and Sat at Ferndene I think it is very cheap call us Streetstock drivers derby drivers. A good idea would be for tank68p to loan the 4p car and come on over, he will really enjoy the racing with a great bunch of people. There are several cars coming from Stratford and Wellington just imagine if we got some b cars and p cars it would be so much more exciting for the crowd. I can even loan my car to someone from over here if it is my driving style which is the problem as we want this class to take off. It will not take off if we try to be heroes and attack visiting cars over zealously. Please Come. Also Come on James 7b last year you were a V and we need you guys to bring both cars over .

If Gareth wants to he is more than welcome to race my streetstock on Sunday. There thats a genuine offer. I know how Gareth drives and have no problem letting him use my car. The offer is not open for anyone else either.

With respect 6V, isn't this thread about the Charlie Berntsen STOCKCAR meeting? I appreciate your enthusiasm for your racing class, but I know what I'm going out to OceanView to watch on Sunday afternoon - and sorry, it's not the streeties.
Perhaps it has something to do with being old enough to have watched the Great Man race back in the early 70's, and old enough to have a beer with him in the Cafe de Paris hotel around the same time.

Respect has nothing to do with it Inventory1 I understood from all the previous replies that this thread was to do with this weekends opening meeting at our speedway. A look thru will see that Angela Cromarty the club secretary hte first to mention other classes and streetstocks on this thread after being asked by a Wellington driver. Also the last thing I would do is rock anything to do with my personal friend Charlie. Be happy we are having a big meeting for the Man and the more classes and competitors the better.
