With a lot of SNZ championship's now being held over the next month, could some one explain the rules of the 3 min bell.E.G. does it only apply to the race or heats that count towards the championship, not qualifying heats. Is it only on lap one and if a red is brought on,and what can be done. The driver has to remain strapped up?. There seems to be confusion amongst competitors and officals on the ruling.

Very simple: It's only a 2 min bell and once the green light, flag have been thrown it's gone.

Just been through the rule book and as quoted in there R12-3-4e superstock/stockcar and R13-2-4e streetstock
Any car failing to start after leaving the pits within the time limit of three(3) minutes, must be pushedinto the centre field and remain there until the completion of the race. This rule only applies before the start of the race, i.e. before the green light is shown. There is only one(1) three minute bell allowed per race.
