As the opening of the 2010 season is almost upon Waiuku Dirt Track Club, they have scored the driving services of a VERY well known young local driver for this Sunday's opener. This is a fantastic offer to the club and the club are very grateful. Racing starts at 10.30 am, gate charges are $10 per adult, children under 15 are free. Bring your autograph books and best manners especially if you are a Ford fan and sympathy for him if you are a Holden fan I believe he will be driving a V8, but as his NZ exploits were on dirt track and speedway, expect he has not lost any of his flair. Hopefully be there myself, Hooncorp.

I understand arnti,
I had commitments at Kumeu for the weekend and missed seeing SHANE VAN GISBERGEN the Stone Bros kiwi V8 supercar driver in action. I have heard he had a great day and yes he was driving a Ford. In fact he put on a full days racing, qualified for the feature and stayed the entire day including walking the facility and signing autographs.
At Waiuku he was just another guy in a race car and yes, a bit of paint was swapped, but Waiuku was asked not to make a song and dance of him being there as it was a favour to the club to help with their season opening. Waiuku is indebted to Shane and crew for his availability and most of all his humility. Shane is an average guy who drives anything with above average ability.
Keep in touch Arnti, where is a calendar of Waihi Beach's days? And, are you guys running the Queens birthday event again?
