Some factual points
The weakest part of a Tank is its driver Drivers of Tanks have a false sense of security A Tank will never win 1NZ again as alas tank drivers of today fall well short of the caliber of Dave Evans Tank drivers only try to intimidate other drivers like Bully's so other drivers will pull over and let them pass Tanks look like either a Pota loo on its side, half a scrap metal yard or an oversized Garbage can

Today I went and visited Tony at Hardacre Engineering in Palmy to have a chat about recent events and discuss future plans for the 4V Tank. The incident which left Josh injured is under investigation by SNZ, and although the outcome of that investigation is yet to be finalised, Tony would like to draw attention to a matter which many speedway racers might take for granted. The issue is around safety belts failing as a result of sparks from welding or grinding that may fall onto the belt and weaken it's integrity. Tony recommends that belts be removed from the car at any time these activities occur. With all due respect to Josh and his family, the car itself suffered only superficial damage and will be back on track this weekend. Tony congratulats Mr Rees on a hit that got 3 cars at once. All the names are in the hat with the driver to be announced tomorrow to race this weekend and beyond for a time... I for one can't wait to hear the outcome of these discussions. In the mean time everyone wishes Josh a speedy recovery to be back driving his speedy Tank. I believe that the car won 3 out of 3 at Gisbourne whislt still under development - it's got some pace for sure. Spose we will all know just how much pace the car has got after Wanganui+H, there aren't many drivers of the class of Dave Evans out there like THE mAD oNE said... but there might still be 1 or 2 pretty close if they were tanked up.. The creators of the beast: The beast naked: The total damage to the car after Mr Ress hit was minimal: The kinetic energy that flowed through the car was of such force that it bent the petrol intake: Inside: PS: Scott Miers big red 8P destruction machine will be back for this coming weekend at the big 240's party in Rotovegas.

thanks for the update Slideaways - any news on the new driver? And will they register to wanganui, and turn out for the Vulcans - I hope so, the team looked very strong and quick out there, and losing a sharp car and commited driver like Josh is a big loss. Hopefully that can be offset by the car getting back out for the team. Yes its quick allright, and boy does it handle. Any ideas what it weighs in at? and great to see a shot of the team who have built and are maintaining the immaculate 4v tank. Today I went and visited Tony at Hardacre Engineering in Palmy to have a chat about recent events and discuss future plans for the 4V Tank. To Go Slideways
Thank you for your update on behalf of our Family and Max the owner of the car. Josh's belts have been sent away for investigation as they were fairly new rachet belts we were surprised they broke. At ths stage although nothing was verifyed they are assuming they may have been weakened by a welding spark however this has yet to be confirmed. Well done Mr Rees for taken 3 cars out at once I guess anyone could do that when at least 1 if not 2 of them were parked which was also verifyed by the drivers of the cars in front of Josh up in the pit control after the incident. Was just wanting to put the facts right. Josh is getting better by the hour with stiches out next week and physio beginning then im sure he will be up and running around before to long. Thanks Sue

Great point Marty!!! Anyone that knows anything about Stockcars knows that Jared's not scared. And what has he to be scared of? He knows that every time he gets into his racecar, especially for the Wanderers, he is a target! Come on people... no name calling! That Wade tank is a rocket and although I doubt he will win... I am sure that he will have a say in who does or does not take the trophy!!!

Does not matter everyone knew he was 1NZ anyway could be a number of reasons it was his choice To say anyone is scared in Stockcars or Superstocks is a silly statement to make if they were scared they would not race them some may be apprehensive at times well actually many are and admit it, but to say they are scared is plain silly

if thats the case then the closest a flat chassis has got recently would have to be Taylor frm Wanganui a cple of yrs ago when he got 3nz the most recent flat chassis to win NZ superstocks would be either Dave Tennant or Gary Parkes (late 80's early 90's) Daryl Taylors car wasn't a flat chassis. The last time a flat chassis got in the top 3 was Ian King in 96 thats when wellington destroyed everyone and were 1nz 2nz & 3nz.
