Without being a rocket scientist..... you could presume they dont have enough cars...

Looks like the original post has been deleted, but with Steve Guilford throwing his lot in with Stratford to have the opportunity to teams race and the message I got this week that the Warriors have officially withdrawn from PN, that would be just about it for the V this season.

You could indeed presume such a thing Wiseowl, and you wouldn't be far off the mark. Daryl Taylor is having some time off, Dion Mooney has converted his car back to a stockcar, and KP has leased cars for the last two seasons. That leaves, at best four local cars, which reduces to three with the news that Steve Guilford has contracted to Stratford. It's sad that Wanganui won't be at the Teams Champs, but they won't be the only ones in that position.
On a more positive note, there was an excellent turnout of stockcars with a V on their side last weekend, and with the NZ Champs just a month away, there's plenty for Wanganui fans to look forward to.

Pretty much on the button there Inventory. With Taylor, Mooney & Guilford out of the mix it only leaves Scott Duncan, Morris Doyle & Richard Watkins. Word from the top is that they have already told Palmy that we are not there this year. I always suppose you could contract other track drivers but Wanganui has always liked to field teams that regularly have a V on the door. Let's hope they will be back in 2011.

Let's hope so indeed FTV, becuse Wanganui's presence has added much to the event in the last few seasons. And I agree - I'd far rather see a "pure" Wanganui Warriors team than one with a couple of ring-ins to make up the numbers. With any luck, the lads from the River City might be back in 2011.

Did you call him Simon when you spoke, Marty? I'd be amazed if he responded, given that his name is Steve.
