Jimmyj , I'm tired of seeing these posts of yours that are tirelessly critical of others . So have decided to rest your membership for 7 days so we can all have a break.

Thanks Ryan O'Connor for clearing your situation up. Nothing like hearing form the Driver themselves. It's not jsut a case of turning up at a track to race. Just out of curiousity how much for one weekend of racing? Accomodation for crew Travel Food Days away from you business Racing expense Tyres fuel Wear and tear on the engine and car. Would be good to let the average job blogs know ball park figure. I know we could spend $1200 for a weekend at the springs and that was nearly 10 years ago.

Oh man. Sounds like it will be a good night at Baypark.
Wish speedbox were covering it, im not really in a shape to drive down there today (BBQ last night was a bit too good).
Good luck to Ryan O'Connor, no doubts a future 1NZ Sprintcar!

So how was it? Visitor numbers and racing? Brindle, O'Conner, Salter. 18 Sprinters in total. How to describe the night? Woods won and deserved to. He was clearly the best there tonight. Brindle 2nd, O'Conner finished broken on turn 3. Enwistle spent the night making the track as short as he is. Super Saloons: Steve Williams was there with his super but never came through the pit gate. Carl Hanlon helped Paul Carter see everthing upsidedown. Some how when the race started again he was of the front on three wheels - not that a start of the back of a depleated field of five would have been a huge punishment. He won easily going away everyone else. The stockcars did their best to entertain. 18 started the night and 7 finished. Thanks boys. The Saloons were minus 2 & 3NZ. Geoff Webb in the Skinny Built 66m was a well deserving winner of the feature. The ministock nationals was won by 21m - Sam Pitman; 24m - Cole Wood; 22m - Alister Clark. There were 54 entries with visitors from Auckland, Rotorua and 1 from Meeanee. The winner got $500, 2nd $300 & 3rd $200. They get to donate the money to the educational facility of their choice to further their education. Cole Wood started the 12 lap final about halfway down the field of the 36 starters. I saw two people asleep in the stands which I estimate was populated by about 8-900 people.

Sounds like a good night in general then. Yep, in general... it was a good night. The mini stocks raced well and produced some 'not to be missed close finishes' It was weird to see, in the final, how the whole field stayed bunched up, for quite a while it seemed due to a n even quality field I suppose. 2 roll overs added to the entertainment. There were a couple of hard hits in the stocks which shook the stadium when hitting the wall. I all hope drivers are ok and not too sore today. The Geoff Webb and Michelle Wymer battle was the highlight in the saloons. 3 out of 3 for karl Hanlon in the supers and the Carter Hanlon tussle in the feature with carter ending his roof was good fun to watch. Always good to see the big boys come down from Auckland. Good close racing as always with Woods, Brindle, Entwisle Colson, Dahm and O'Connor always making there way up to the pointy end of the field. It was a good night of racing. A poor turn out from the public. I saw two people asleep in the stands which I estimate was populated by about 8-900 people. LOL you're wrong Dave, when I awoke from my POWER NAP I saw 2 others asleep so there was 3 oldies recharging. ;D
