The long standing midget and mini-sprint lap records fell last night at Huntly. Graham Strandring held the midget lap record since 2007 , with a time of 14.08 seconds, it has been close to being beaten on a numbers of occasions but last night both Mosen and Insley went under that time in two heats over the night. it was however Mosen who lowered the record to 13.7363 seconds, a time which is faster than the modified lap record. the mini sprint lap record which has stood for over 5 years, and was held by Mark Edwards at 14.350 was broken finally by Shaun Cooke last night and the old time was bettered by more than 5 drivers during the night. The new record stands at 14.1661. It wasn't the straight line speed that was the difference is was the smooth corners and drive that the cars were getting, amazing to watch and fast to the point of being on the edge.

Well done to all at Huntly who are involved and to the drivers and crews. To have both broken on the same night shows that it must have been outstanding conditions.
What is the lap record at Huntly? I assume it would be set by a sprintcar but maybe not.
