great to see the pics and looking pretty sweet - It certainly only just fits on the trailer. I do have a couple of questions: Firstly I assume the right rear tyre is a temporary thing (as its on the wrong way), but check the RR centre offsett. Im pretty sure that when I was racing the centre had to be inside the rim by no less than a 1/3 - photos may be deceptive though Secondly, off topic, but what is sitting in the grass behind the air cleaner in the photo below?(someone had to ask) Hope you have a great season with it and I will look forward to seeing it in person at some stage during the year.

Got 2 new R/H rear wheels for it (Chrome of course) as you pointed out the wheel is incorrect but that wheel is only a temporary thing, Thanks for reminding me of the rule though before I go welding the centers in shortly. Car in background is a Rheem hot water cylinder made into a garden ornament, Fiat 1600 cylinder head, did have complete engine on hindsight should have put the whole thing in as a runner for BBQs Lol. You tube link is or try 'you tube search' = Gordge Sidewinder 13b firing up Hot 221 V8 - seems to work.

Got the Sidewinder out in the Hawkes Bay Champs last weekend. Went well, few things to sort but seems pretty OK from a newbee rookies veiw. Worth the effort to get the car out there. Be back in the new season.

Got the overheating problem sorted, 70 degrees C after 8 laps, the Sidewinder went Ok on opening night at Meeanee but have rejetted due to sooty spark plugs, have to get the drifting thing right as it wants to do it but I'm not quite ready myself. Could do with some advice re rear tyre size, had same sizes all around at HB champs and tied smaller inside rear on HB opening night and seemed more flicky?? But cut 2 seconds off my lap time. Had fun and enjoying the challange of getting it all right. Ive just started racing at 56 years old to experience it before I'm too old which isnt that far away. My Brother is freaked out I'm doing it. Got 36 year old stockcar and it's a great car. It's old and so am I so we are a good combo, two Oldies Lol.

Got out for 2nd meeting at Meeanee, had changed rear tyres to 1- 1/2" offsett and after race one which was real slippery as track pretty wet (also forgot to let tyres down on rear after size change - 30 psi wasnt helping the handling and traction but I coped) race two had it sorted and had a good race with handling issues resolved, engine pulling 6000rpm was sweet. Was pretty happy with the way the Sidewinder was behaving and it was now my turn to drive her as best as I could for my third meeting as a novice newbee. Race three was having a great time trying to improve my lap times and on lap 6 I got put up the wall unexpectedly by 16b but the Sidewinder came back down and landed on all four and didnt roll over as intended. Engine fired straight back up and was ready to go again, but a weld had broken on a tube from steering box so no steering, also had a flatty so without power steering be extra difficult to drive. Got a bit of superficial damage but nothing major too hard for me to fix. Will sort her out and get back out there again with some improvements like power steering. Even though I got a bit trashed being put up the wall I enjoyed the racing and most of the racers are fair minded and didnt hassle me as I'm a newbee. Good to see a big crowd, tractor driver was a great help putting back on the trailer.

Pleased to hear you didn't get too much damage and plan to keep racing. Look forward to racing with you hopefully at the next meeting. Marty 15b

Hi Regan, I guess Stockcars are about the unexpected and one has to be aware that the unexpected may happen. Hey your new paint and wing look pretty good. Got your engine sorted?
