The Kiwis Are Here For The Anzac Challenge
Friday, 23 April 2010 TPCR MEDIA
It’s that time of year again racefans, the annual Karavanz 4 Kidz Caravan, Boat and Dunny Derby at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway. Over the years this event has raised plenty of money for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and it’s become an institution at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway for a number of seasons.
Sharing the spotlight will be the biggest event on the Speedcar calendar to date, the Champion of Champions and ANZAC Speedcar Challenge. Seven of New Zealand’s best will take on the best Australia can give in what will be a prequel to the Rondalee 50 Lap Classic on May 1.
Leading the Kiwi brigade will be current New Zealand champion Michael Pickens. He will be teamed up with Brad Mosen. Also representing New Zealand will be Shaun Insley, ex-NZ Champion Shayne Allach, Bill Clarkson Jnr, Lance Beale and Dave Gick. They will have to take on 28 Aussies who want nothing more than to beat the Kiwis.
One of the highlights of the night will be the ANZAC Speedcar Challenge which will see the top five from each country compete in 2 x 6 lap races to determine who the ANZAC Challenge winner is for 2010.
To cap it off, a 30 lap Champion of Champions feature race will be a great curtain raiser for the Speedcar carnival over the next two weeks.
For the kids, the Caravan, Boat and Dunny Derby will cap of a great family night at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway. There is only one aim in this race, to destroy everything in your sight. The unbreakable boat of years gone by will be making a return so if any of the Fender Bender Boys are feeling brave, they might just win the battle this year!
Also on the card are the AMCA Nationals, Modified Productions and Fender benders. This is one night that no-one should miss. It has something for everyone so do yourself a favour and get your backside trackside!
