Nelson is a family speedway, they also do not let alchohol in or sell it.
Blenheim says alchohol free but security always seems to turn a blind eye, so long as it isn't bottles

If you want to drink go to a pub. if you dont come to speedway and have fun I understand your sentiment but will disagree. I put my entertainment money into following speedway meetings and helping a couple of drivers with sponsorship rather than sitting in the pub getting perpetually pissed. When I go to a race meeting where I am not part of a pit crew or having a pedal of a car part of my enjoyment is having aforementioned drink - take that opportunity away from me (or many of the friends who I bring along to speedway meetings) and the sport will lose my input and spending. In the overall picture it isn't much money, but if others in the same situation follow my lead it will certainly hurt the overall wellbeing of speedway. Conversely, I made a day trip to the finals night (having spent the original 2 days in Rotorua watching the rain) and didn't drink as I was driving back to Auckland after the meeting. I was however right royally annoyed by the drunken morons sat next to me, and even more disappointed at the lack of action taken by security even when asked to intervene by others in the area (the prescence of gang colours probably played a part). Overall it is about personal responsibility, and removing the morons from the venue - the Rotorua (and other venue) security need to do their job properly (removing and trespassing offenders from the venue would be a good start) so the responsible majority can enjoy the meeting.

Party Police!!please please pull your heads in,theres no problem with drinking, might just need a few tweaks in the right area though. How about a large fenced off area[fence made of prison mesh 20 ft high] where the drinkers and intoxicated people must drink, veiw, fight or be heros in,that way there will be entertainment all night long and they can only hurt themselves. An added bonus for the familys will be showing your kids 1st hand the consiquences of to much alcohol without being in any danger. Also while youre at it how about banning smokers[they just polute the air and fill up hospitals]and also any fat people [they take up to much grass]also may have to look at tall people but thats next weeks job Different things annoy different people,ALL THINGS IN MODERATION

My original post was a gripe about 2 guys who were well and truly intoxicated. I have an issue with that, i dont have an issue with people who can have 1 or 2 drinks and not let it get out of hand, remember the good old days when you get get done for drunk and disorderly. The only other gripe have as of the finals night is people leaving their litter on the ground, glass plastic etc, there may not have been alot but on the way out i saw atleast 4 or 5 glass bottles on the ground and styrofoam trays, whilst it might not seem like much there are bins situated around the terraces and not far to put rubbish in them. And yes i did pick it up and put them in the bin.
