On the positive side you saved the $5 for parking.

On the positive side you saved the $5 for parking. yeha, but the cost of gettign the door fixed will easily eclipse the savings from parking

Depends as if he parks in Waldergrave street tonight he may save another $5 which can be put towards the $5 from last night making a combined saving of $10. If the were 4 people in the car that means each person save $2.50 over the 2 nights. If the car gets kicked in again tonight then I guess you could say thats bad luck. I would say its stupid not paying $5 and having your park monitored.

Whilst you guys might sling off at him for parking there (and he wasn't the only one), it's the w*nkers that do this sh*t that p*ss me off. I can't understand the mentality of these losers that do this kind of stuff. You should be able to park your car anywhere without this kind of crap happening.

On the positive side you saved the $5 for parking. Good on ya bevan(sarcasim) so they have all the right to kick in doors because these particular people didn't pay for parking!!!! How do you know all the cars affected were there for speedway, do they have to pay to park there cars outside there house as well? And your only saying $5 didnt you charged $20 at wanganui? RIPOFF

I totally agree with you and you should be able to park where you like and your gear and vehicle should be safe.
There is another thing to consider and that is the inconsiderate behaviour of some of the people who park inconsideratly blocking drives, make trenches on peoples grass and make too much noise and leave rubbish behind. So some damage is possibly revenge damage by people in the street or area. Not good but a possibilty. This is why event promoters provide safe parking which cost a little and can save you a lot. The cost of the ground hireage and the parking wardens etc is all more cost that are part of a meeting hence the safety of the $5 car park.

How do you know all the cars affected were there for speedway, do they have to pay to park there cars outside there house as well? And your only saying $5 didnt you charged $20 at wanganui? RIPOFF At Wanganui we charged $5. We also run the car park for the speedways neighbours which is $20. For the $5 your car park is patrolled. For the $20 your car is in a seperate area, 1) you can turn up at the last minute and are still close 2) great for custom paint jobs, flash cars and low riders 3) Monitored the whole night. 4) Easy acess to car at end of meeting 5) First out the gate service on leaving. You get what you pay for and no one is made to park inside and have their car and belongings taken care of. One funny story is that of the $40,000 plus car that the driver said $5 was too expensive for parking, he then parks off road and wrote off the paintwork on the gorse outside. One whole side of the car paintwork damaged.

I was not meaning its your fault. I am very sorry your car got damaged. I just wanted people to think a bit more about parking. I also did not expect DM to make it personal.
Hope your car door is easily repaired.
Where will you park tonight?

I know its our fault for parking out there, and thats fine, Im just warning people about parking out there tonight. We used to park in Heatrite carpark as well for years, came back a few meets ago and window smashed, radar gone(and was in glove box)from car, idiots saw the tell tale rubber marks on screen. Hopefully the cops will patrol the area if they know about it.

The car park issue is yet another factor to think about now. My wife was really over the moon when I told her we had to be at the arena even earlier to get a car park inside. For next year can I lay out a tarp in the car park area? Pretty sad when you think about this issue. Not a good look for palmerston North at all. I wouldn't dare to threaten I'm not going back next year she might hold me to it

Sometimes when you are running late patrolled car parking is not available and this would be a certainty in the case of the teams champs

No offence to you Palmy folk but Palmy is one of those places at the best of times and it doesnt help when you get such a huge crowd of people for whom a lot have had to park off site for what ever reasons, and whilst they are all inside enjoying the racing - you get these local steet monkeys all fueled up on piss and what ever else just looking for an opportunity .... I dispise people that think it is amusing to vandalise others property but an occasion like this is perfect feeding ground for these low life pieces of nuts.
rant over - hope those affected are covered by insurance!

Every town has its riff raff. The parenting of these little hooligans is to blame.
