xf carb is supposed to be the go. haven't got that far myself (nowhere near it)....but is definitely supposed to be the easiest option

Yep, easiest and cheapest option is the weber off an xf falcon. Thats what i've been running for the last four years and it works ok. Other option is a 2barrel holley which is what i'm going to run next season as the throat in the weber is actually smaller than than the hole in the restrictor plate.

There is lots of voodoo about carbs, Holly the most popular as tuning bits are easy to come by, Falcon and Valliant 2bbl carbs are a cheap option, petrol Landcruiser go like stink but break off in the barrell, I know of one guy using a single bbl off the old TK Bedford truck as its the same size as the restictor plate. Another option is a 48mm downdraft webber and only using one side, they used to do this in formula junior/3. Would be a female dog to set up, but the results may be worth it? Some use single barrell Holden or Falcon carbs.
Stick with a Holly 350, The set up knowlege is there so no surprises.
