I was wondering if anyone knew the whereabouts of my old sidecar. I built it in 1980 with an XS1100 Yamaha motor which Bob Haldane kindly gave me. I won a lot of races at Western Springs in the early 80's on it then sold it to Craig Busch. where it went to after that I'd love to know. cheers Tjebbe Attachments:

Hi Tjebbe, Craig and I had prepared your old sidecar loaded it onto the trailer along with all our race gear and spares ,hooked the trailer up to my car ready to head down to 1982 Wellington nationals. 5.30 the morning before we were sitting at the table eating breakfast before the big drive down and heard my car start up and take off down the road. I tried chasing and Craig phoned the cops . That was the last time we seen everything mentioned above. Who ever stole that sidecar got the best bike ever seen on speedway. It was an absolute credit to you for hand building such an awesome machine. Unfortunately we couldn't do the bike any justice as we spent more time picking ourselves up off the ground,or should i say the ambo's spent a lot of time picking us up off the deck. Craig had this idea he could go as quick as the bike could get us to the finish line, without the thought of crashing into someone or just simply leaving the track to kiss the concrete walls. Sometimes we couldn't even get past the line without flipping two or three times LOL. Anyway mate you are a legion and in the eyes of a lot of blokes of our era you always will be. Reece (coroguy) P.S Sorry about your sidecar.........
