ok it has been missing badly for the last two weeks,ok in neutral but in a gear the engine is realyy missing bad,one would think plugs etc,but towing to and back from meeanees opening last week it was really bad under the more load and the catalact converter light came and stayed on.Today I had the converter cut out and exhaust pipe replaced it,but the miising is still there, anyone have any ideas?

could it be fuel regulator problem, my GMC had issues with the pump regulator over here, the mechanic said it was some part a sloppy injector clean gone bad but alot to do with the ethanol thats going into the fuel, also what about clogged ingectors?

Check your fuel filter, in most cases replacement has been overlooked and the oe fitted one is still in there Also run through some injector cleaner, it could be a gunked up injector. Do the terranos run Dizzies?

My Nissan Primera did the same thing and it was wet with condensation inside the dizzy cap. It got wet while it was being degreased under the bonnet, also had water around the plugs. Dried it out and sweet as. Good luck Marty

Id say it would be the HT leads. The cat light would of come on because it was misfiring. If a injector was bung it wouldnt heat up the cat and it would be doing it all the time.Change the leads and youl be sweet.

Have worked for Nissan and Holden for over 10 years. Ht leads and spark plugs is more than likely the cause. Im only telling you this so you dont have an excuse not to tow your stockcar to a track that has a tank hunting you down! ;D

If a set of new plugs and leads doesn't fix it, and you have checked the dizzy is nice and dry etc... It could be the coils, but you should do the plugs and leads first cos of cost. Also check the earth straps to the ECU and the engine and from the battery. It does sounds more electrical than fuel. My V6 VN Commadore did the same thing and I had to change the coil pack to fix it. Good luck.

where is your theory Porry? hic now after cutting out the converter for nothing I have put it on the factory analzer...for nothing all it told me was that the computer was working 60 bucks for that! they said book it back in for about 3 hours at 72 bucks an hour for further diagnostics ,was getting peeved but weighed things up pooped the bonnet and saw a little spark coming from one of the leads so taped it and it took away most of the miss.So went back in and asked the Nissan dealer for leads,we have to order them 400 bucks a set, errr went round the corner to repco none but can order 229 bucks a set hmmmm, anyways apparantly went a plug is not firing properly pure fuel is sent through the cylinder which upsets the oxy sensor which is why my cat converter light was coming on which put me down the wrong path in the first place,so after wasting 110 bucks a bit of tape has fixed...patched it for now till i can afford new leads.400 and 229 is a little different eh lol
