I have just brought a saloon car with VW torsion bars in the rear and i want to put 30 inch bars for replacement what sizes do i use for left and right and what is the best set up for side movement eg watts linkage or panard bar etc?

i would use a 1050 or 1075 bar in the left rear with a 3 valving shock and on the right rear i would go for a 1075-1100 with say a 4 valved shock. make sure you don't split more that 2 size bars in the back. as for the pan hard bar you want it connected to the chassis on the left rear of the car and to the right rear of the diff or Bird cage. how ever i would go for a Jacobs ladder would be a better way than a pan hard bar. try and get solid bars as hollow bars deteriorate over time more rapidly than solids (as all spring steel does)
