So there's two Ministocks that are outstandingly fast for stratford, and both have the same engine builder? One of the the cars in question was meant to have broken the Palmerston record at the start of the season and the second car just broke the Wanganui lap record? How is it that fully worked legal engines like Hartley etc, can get smoked by these "Shane Bennet" engines. Just wondering why Snz Hasn't picked up one it yet as its very obvious that they don't look like they your standard engines. In no way am I saying they ARE illegal but just wondering if anyone could shine a light as to why two lap records been broken by the same engine builder and no ones questioned it?

Their is also no point in having the top of the line gear without a good driver behind the wheel ? You can't just break lap records if you're not a good driver.

Why don't you if you feel so strongly about it put up your money lay a official complaint and have the engines measured etc by s n z

these cars have been checked over by speedway new zealand, twice! The car that won m.i.p was put into the shed at Rotorua and checked over intensely. was fully legal. nothing wrong with it. one of the cars from startford was also checked over by speedway new zealand. once again. nothing wrong with it, all fully legal! so whats the problem. and how do you get the price of 15k for a engine???

Don't know where you're getting your facts from? 15k for a Shane Bennett Engine?
It's like any class in Speedway isn't it ? You've got to have top of the line gear to be Successful ?
and as for Where MalliaRacing said one won M.I.P and was fully checked over. They were meaning that the car that won had a Shane Bennett Engine the same as every one elses Shane Bennett Engines and was fully Legal.

I was simply asking why no one else is noticed how fast they are. No need to get defensive. Me as a spectator just noticed both are very good cars and not the best drivers around. And just cause one engine of Shane's is legal is that suppose to mean EVERY Shane engine is legal?

And just cause one engine of Shane's is legal is that suppose to mean EVERY Shane engine is legal? It means every engine is legal unless it fails inspection. As a spectator you have to leave it to SNZ to apply the rules and/or other competitors to lodge formal protests. To suggest the engines aren't legal implies those using them are cheating, I'm not comfortable allowing this thread to continue for that reason when there is no evidence of any such thing.

I know this thread is locked but considering the suggestion in this thread about illegal engines there is an update on one.
58s Bayley Betts Bayleys engine was taken into the shed underneath the pitbox at Rotorua Ministocks in paradise after winning the institute of technology plate and checked over by SNZ official Mr Viles. Everything checked on the engine was fully compliant with SNZ rules.
